Following the sad news of Queen Elizabeth II's passing at the age of 96, significant changes have taken place within the royal family.

One of the queen's grandchildren, , has experienced a notable shift in her responsibilities following the death of her grandmother.

As the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York, has become a councillor of state.

Assuming this role means that Princess Beatrice is now among a select group of four individuals who can act on behalf of and substitute for III when required.

Her new duties include participating in privy council meetings, signing documents, and receiving the credentials of new ambassadors.

Prior to Queen Elizabeth II's passing, the four councillors of state were her two sons, Prince Charles and Prince Andrew, as well as Charles' two sons, and .

Count Mozzi also provided insight into how he and Princess Beatrice were coping with the loss of the queen.

Photographs captured Princess Beatrice and her sister, , alongside their father Prince Andrew, , Prince Edward, his wife Sophie Wessex, their daughter Lady Louise Windsor, and Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips outside Balmoral Castle on Saturday.

The touching images depicted the sisters comforting each other as they observed the flowers left by the public.

Princess Eugenie was seen shedding tears while Prince Andrew offered her solace by placing an arm around her.

The royal family, dressed in all black, returned to Balmoral after attending a brief prayer service, receiving applause from onlookers as they waved to the crowd.
