Tide Turns Against Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the US, says Former Adviser

Former US Anglo-American adviser and senior fellow of the Beaux Group think tank, Lee Cohen, has revealed that the tide is turning against and in the United States.

Despite initially being met with positivity and welcome, Cohen explains that there are now many sensible Americans who share the sentiment of the UK, believing that the royal couple may be beyond redemption.

Cohen emphasizes that and had the best teachers and guidance within the royal family, making it difficult to understand why they did not follow the expected norms.

When asked about how the couple could improve their popularity, Cohen replied with uncertainty, suggesting that in Britain, as well as among many sensible American audiences, they may already be beyond redemption.

He further points out that they have abandoned the country that warmly welcomed them and burned the bridges of goodwill that were extended to them.

Reflecting on the initial reaction to Meghan Markle in the UK, Cohen notes that there was genuine enthusiasm surrounding the new Duchess.

Many believed she could bring a positive modernization to the monarchy.

However, things took a different turn, either because she did not understand her role or was unwilling to accept its conditions.

Cohen emphasizes that public figures like the royals have an expected way to behave, and Meghan should have been fully on board with that.

He adds that most people would be thrilled to become a royal and would do whatever it takes to enjoy the privileges that come with that life.

They would also understand the sacrifices of discretion that need to be made.

Cohen highlights the influence of role models within the royal family, such as the Queen, who obey conventions and avoid controversial issues.

He criticizes Prince Harry's comments on the First Amendment, stating that it was an extremely bad move and urges him to stay out of politics, especially on contentious topics in his new home country.

Contrary to the belief that Americans wanted a royal family, Cohen disagrees and explains that while Americans have huge respect for the royal family, there is little desire to quasi-adopt one.

He acknowledges that US audiences are less experienced with the royal family, making them more forgiving when protocols or behaviors are not followed.

Cohen cites the Royal interview as an example, where he found the British press and audience to be more systematically critical.

However, Cohen emphasizes that America is divided into two countries, and he cannot speak for everyone who either worships or condemns the royal couple.

It is important to note that these views represent a portion of the American population.

In recent months, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have openly discussed their struggles within the royal family since stepping back from their roles.

Prince Harry claimed to have been financially cut off from his father, while Meghan revealed that she did not receive help when she was struggling with her mental health.

Additionally, the couple made allegations of racism within the firm during their bombshell interview.

As public opinion shifts and criticism mounts, it remains to be seen how Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will navigate their future in the United States.

Their actions and decisions will continue to be closely scrutinized by both supporters and detractors alike.
