The Queen’s Demand: Meghan Markle Returns Wedding Ring
In a surprising turn of events, the Queen has reportedly compelled Meghan Markle to hand back her wedding ring.
As the Duchess of Sussex made a swift exit from London's National Theatre, onlookers were taken aback by the absence of any rings on her finger.
It is said that Queen Elizabeth was so displeased with their decision to step away from royal duties that she insisted Prince Harry retrieve Meghan's wedding band.
An insider revealed that although the decision may have been impulsive and fueled by anger, technically, the Queen owns the ring.
Crafted from a rare Welsh gold nugget, the ring holds significant historical value, making some at Buckingham Palace question Meghan's worthiness of such a precious piece.
As for Meghan's diamond engagement ring, rumors suggest that she purposely removed it, as if forgetting to wear any rings altogether, in an attempt to divert attention from her missing band.
Observers have noticed that Meghan has not been seen wearing her rings for quite some time now.
Many speculate that any ring she has worn since their departure from the UK is a replica.
Prince Harry's recently released memoir, “Spare,” shed light on several revelations.
One notable revelation was that the widely known story of Harry giving Princess Diana's ring to Prince William never actually happened.
In his book, Harry asserts, “None of it ever happened.
I never gave Willy that ring because it wasn't mine to give.
He already had it.
He'd asked for it after Mummy died, and I'd been more than happy to let it go.”
However, Diana's former royal butler, Paul Burrell, has come forward with a different account, challenging Harry's version of events.
Burrell claims that he was present when Harry gave William their mother's ring for Catherine to wear.
According to Burrell, Harry willingly handed over this precious heirloom to his brother, ensuring it would grace the finger of William's future queen.
Burrell recalls that when the brothers were younger, they had the opportunity to select jewelry from their mother's collection.
Harry chose the legendary sapphire engagement ring, while William opted for a frequently worn Cartier watch.
Burrell now asserts that Harry gave the watch to William before their feud erupted.
Prince Harry proposed to Meghan in November 2017 with a stunning ring featuring a solid yellow gold band adorned with three diamonds.
Speaking about the custom design, Prince Harry revealed that one diamond originated from Botswana, a country of personal significance to the couple, while the other two smaller stones were sourced from Princess Diana's collection.
He explained, “The ring is obviously yellow gold because that's Meghan's favorite, and the main stone itself is sourced from Botswana, and the little diamonds either side are from my mother's jewelry collection, to make sure that she's with us on this crazy journey together.”
Meghan expressed her joy at receiving the ring, emphasizing its sentimental value as a connection between her roots and Botswana, which holds special meaning for both of them.
However, during public engagements in 2019, Meghan chose not to wear her engagement ring while pregnant with their son, Archie.
The reasons behind this decision remain unknown.
