Tense Reunion Feared as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Join Queen’s Jubilee
The upcoming Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Queen Elizabeth II are expected to be overshadowed by the presence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, as tensions rise over their participation.
Royal commentator Neil Sean has expressed concerns about the potential awkwardness and drama that may arise if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decide to attend the four-day event.
Sean believes that the media will eagerly capture any family conflicts that occur during the reunion.
He also questions the couple's contribution to the festivities, suggesting that they may only cause problems.
“I'm sure that Her Gracious Majesty the Queen would have enough people helping to serve the teas and possibly clearing up at Windsor Great Park,” Sean remarked on his YouTube channel.
“You can only imagine what on earth Harry and Meghan could possibly offer.
I don't mean that in a cruel way, but you know it's going to be very difficult for Her Majesty the Queen and of course, His Royal Highness Prince Charles and Princess Anne.
What could they offer?
That would take a lot of focus away from the Queen.”
Despite rumored tensions with the royals, Sean speculates that Queen Elizabeth II will likely extend an invitation to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for a private gathering.
This could explain why the couple is keeping their schedule open for the celebrations.
“What I'm suspecting is there will be some kind of banquet, perhaps low-key, that they possibly could get invited to,” Sean shared.
“What we do know, however, is their diaries are remaining free.”
An insider has revealed that Prince Harry's request to attend his grandmother's Platinum Jubilee celebrations is already causing a headache.
Questions have emerged regarding the couple's presence on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the flypast and their involvement in other events.
Concerns have also been raised about their potential to overshadow the celebration of the monarch's 70 years on the throne, adding to the anticipation of an awkward family reunion.
In a recent claim by royal author Andrew Morton, it is suggested that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry felt the royals were against them after being excluded from Queen Elizabeth II's 2020 New Year photo.
The photo, taken in the throne room at Buckingham Palace, featured the Queen alongside her son Prince Charles, grandson Prince William, and great-grandson Prince George, symbolizing the future of the British monarchy.
Morton writes in his unauthorized biography, “Meghan, a Hollywood Princess,” that the couple suspected a conspiracy against them within the institution.
They believed that the unspoken code implied the monarchy's future was secure with or without their presence.
Shortly after the release of the photo, the Sussexes shocked the world by announcing their decision to step back from royal duties.
They expressed their intention to establish a progressive role within the institution while achieving financial independence.
Buckingham Palace acknowledged their desire for a different approach but emphasized the complexity of the issues that needed to be addressed.
Since then, Meghan and Harry have relocated to California, where they welcomed their daughter Lilibet in June 2021.
The couple is anticipated to release several projects in collaboration with companies like Netflix and Spotify.
However, the most highly anticipated project is Harry's memoir, which is expected to provide insights into their departure from royal life.
As the Queen's Platinum Jubilee approaches, all eyes will be on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as their presence promises to add an extra layer of complexity to the family gathering.
