Taxpayer Outrage as $15 Million Committed to Meg’s Wardrobe in Next Invictus Show

The federal and British Columbia governments have caused an uproar among taxpayers after announcing a commitment of $15 million each in support of the 2025 Invictus Games in Vancouver and Whistler, B.C.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Premier John Horgan made the announcement at Vancouver's Rogers Arena.

Trudeau emphasized that these Games will be uniquely Canadian as they will be the first Invictus Games to feature adaptive winter sports.

In addition to the funds allocated for the Games, an extra $1 million in federal funds will be provided to the Soldier On program to facilitate the participation of Canadian veterans.

Trudeau expressed his excitement about the inclusion of winter sports, stating that Canadian competitors will undoubtedly excel in these events.

The Games will feature alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, skeleton, wheelchair curling, swimming, indoor rowing, sitting volleyball, wheelchair rugby, and wheelchair basketball.

, the Duke of Sussex, had previously announced in April that Vancouver and Whistler had won the bid to host this eight-day international sports competition for wounded and ill military veterans in February 2025.

More than 500 athletes from over 20 nations are expected to compete in the upcoming Games.

Premier Horgan hailed the announcement as fantastic news for British Columbia.

However, taxpayers in the province have raised concerns about where exactly this substantial amount of money will be allocated.

Will it be used for 's wardrobe, luxurious accommodations, private jets, and security for the Sussexes?

Or will all the funds be dedicated to supporting veterans?

This question arises because, according to previous reports, Meghan and Harry utilized $30 million from the Invictus Fund during the Invictus German Games.

It seems that Meghan is guaranteed a significant budget for extravagant clothing and a sense of importance.

Some argue that Invictus should consider severing ties with Harry or limiting this exorbitant financial arrangement.

Critics claim that the Games have become overshadowed by the Markle Show, diverting attention away from the veterans.

A whistleblower, speaking to DailyMail.com, expressed genuine concerns about potential budget overruns if they are required to cover the Harkles' expenses.

If public funds are being used, shouldn't the public have access to an itemized account statement?

Taxpayers deserve transparency regarding how their money is spent by Invictus.

Adding to the controversy, the Canadian government has made significant cuts to military funding, leaving armed forces personnel struggling to afford housing, some even facing homelessness.

Allocating $30 million for a single sports event raises questions about the soundness of this decision.

Will it truly attract large crowds willing to spend substantial amounts of money to attend the Games?

The public's interest and support may be lacking.

It is important to note that the Invictus Games were originally founded by the Royal Foundation for Princes William and Harry.

Despite the rift that led to the separation of the Royal Foundations, and Catherine donated £560,000 from their foundation to the Invictus Games.

This contribution resulted in the organization's most significant profit in years.

The funds were much needed as the Harkles canceled a fundraising event for the Games, which was set to be broadcasted by Amazon.

It was initially reported that they backed out of the fundraiser due to their deal with Netflix, prioritizing their own financial goals over supporting the Invictus Games.

Given these circumstances, it is crucial that journalists conduct thorough investigations into the operations of Invictus.

Any directors who were dismissed or left the organization should be offered whistleblower protections if there is indeed something to report.

The current situation raises suspicions and suggests that Invictus may be serving as a means to fund certain lifestyles rather than focusing on its original purpose of supporting veterans.
