Sussexes Opt for Christmas in the U.S. Amidst Ongoing Royal Family Turmoil

Amidst ongoing turmoil between and the Royal Family, the Sussexes have reportedly chosen to spend another holiday season away from the extended family.

Speculation had been rife about the possibility of and returning to the U.K. for Christmas, but recent reports suggest that the couple has decided to celebrate the festive season in the U.S. with their two children, Prince and Princess .

It has been quite some time since the royal couple last celebrated Christmas with the extended family.

In fact, they have not done so since their marriage in 2018.

They officially stepped down from their royal roles in March 2020.

In 2019, instead of joining in the annual Sandringham celebrations, they chose to spend Christmas with Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland.

Since then, they have abstained from participating in any royal Christmas festivities.

Luella Alderson, a relationships expert and founder of the SoSense dating app, has shed light on the profound rift between the Sussexes and the Royal Family.

According to Alderson, a singular Christmas reunion is unlikely to mend the estranged relationship.

She believes that the presence of tension and hurt feelings would make it an unfavorable environment for reconciliation during the holiday season.

Alderson explains, “With the recent media attention Meghan, Harry, and the Royal Family have been receiving with the release of the book, it would be surprising if either side of the family would want to spend Christmas together.”

Alderson emphasizes that repairing the strained relationship would require more than just a visit.

Resolving potential tensions would likely take much more than one holiday celebration.

She asserts that open and honest communication, understanding, and empathy from both sides are essential elements for healing the fractured relationship.

Alderson cautions against hasty reconciliation for the sake of appearances, advising that it is important to take the necessary time for healing.

“Rushing something like this for the sake of appearances or to appease the media wouldn't be beneficial in the long run,” she adds.

As the relationship between the Sussexes and the Royal Family continues to grow more strained over time, Alderson stresses the significance of allowing everyone involved to take the time needed to address underlying issues before attempting reconciliation, especially during holiday celebrations.

Now, let's hear your thoughts on this matter.
