Sussexes Eye Ghana: A Royal Return or Just Another PR Stunt?

The Sussexes are back in the headlines, this time with whispers of a potential trip to Ghana.

Following their last so-called royal adventure in Nigeria, where they seemed to be more of an afterthought to actual officials, Harry and Meghan are reportedly setting their sights on yet another African escapade.

But here’s the kicker: Ghana doesn’t appear to have rolled out the welcome mat for them.

The Daily Mail claims that Ghana is thrilled to host the couple, complete with red carpets and luxurious villas.

But really?

In a nation grappling with pressing issues, does it make sense to prioritize lavish accommodations for two former royals turned influencers?

It seems a bit far-fetched, especially when local authorities have been notably silent on the matter.

This situation feels eerily reminiscent of last year’s debacle when Ghana’s president outright denied extending an invitation to the Sussexes.

Despite Harry and Meghan’s PR team working overtime to spin a narrative of grandeur, the reality was starkly different.

The grand ambition appears to be positioning themselves as significant figures in Africa.

But let’s be honest—nothing screams “relevant” like jetting into developing nations, soaking up applause, and then heading back to California to tally up Netflix earnings.

The truth is, they aren’t exactly the most sought-after guests, whether in the UK, the US, or even Nigeria.

Their previous visit to Nigeria was touted as a triumph, but what did they truly accomplish?

Oh right—a drum kit.

It’s hard to keep track of their self-promotional whirlwind, which raises the question: who is really buying into their global statesman act?

If the rumors hold any weight, Ghana should brace itself for the full Sussex experience.

Expect extravagant hotels, private jets, designer wardrobes, and jewelry that could rival the country’s GDP.

And let’s not forget about the meticulously arranged photo ops with local children, all captured by a Meghan-approved photographer, along with strategically placed microphones for maximum impact.

Undoubtedly, Meghan will deliver a heartfelt speech about empowerment or her journey to discover her roots—whatever buzzword is trending at the moment.

This whole scenario reeks of colonial savior optics, where two ex-royals swoop in to bask in admiration from the locals.

As history suggests, Ghanaian officials will eventually have to step in and clarify that they did not invite the Sussexes, nor do they intend to squander resources on what would essentially be a glorified vacation.

This pattern is becoming all too familiar: Sussexes leak exciting tour details, the media goes wild, and then the host country awkwardly denies it all.

If Ghana does roll out the red carpet, it likely won’t be out of genuine admiration for Harry and Meghan.

More probably, it’ll be some minor official seeking their own moment in the spotlight, akin to what transpired in Nigeria.

The harsh truth remains that Harry and Meghan are just two private individuals looking for a platform to remind the world of their existence.

So, what lies ahead for the Sussexes?

Will they set their sights on Madagascar, Fiji, or perhaps even outer space?

One thing is certain: this circus is far from over.
