Sussex Green Pledge Ignored by Royals as Cambridges Steal the Spotlight Once Again

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are set to make a notable appearance at the annual Royal Variety performance, which will take place at the Royal Albert Hall later this month.

Hosted by Alan Carr, the event will feature performances from renowned artists such as Ed Sheeran, Sir Rod Stewart, James Blunt, and Anne-Marie, as well as the casts of Moulin Rouge!

and Matilda the Musical.

This year's celebration holds special significance as it marks 100 years of patronage from the reigning monarch, starting with King George V in 1921.

II first attended the Royal Variety show in 1947, accompanied by her then-fiancé .

Her last attendance was in 2012, during the show's centenary year.

Excitement fills the air among royal enthusiasts upon learning that the Cambridges will grace this year's event.

Social media user Billy Douglas 7 expressed enthusiasm, stating, “Fantastic news!

Another great opportunity to see the future King William and Queen Catherine.”

Meanwhile, and have made headlines with their Archule Foundation's pledge to achieve carbon neutrality.

However, their green initiative has seemingly been overlooked by fellow royals on social media.

This lack of acknowledgment follows another blow for Harry, as the Queen's recent speech failed to mention his eco-conscious efforts.

In her video message, the monarch expressed pride in Prince Charles and 's work on environmental projects, but omitted any reference to Harry.

Royal biographer Angela Levin suggests that this omission may have left the Duke of Sussex feeling snubbed.

Critics had previously accused Meghan and Harry of hypocrisy for advocating environmental causes while frequently traveling by private jet.

In response, the couple pledged to become carbon neutral by 2030 through their organization, Archule.

However, the Queen has yet to officially acknowledge this commitment, as reported by the Express.

On Wednesday evening, the official Royal Family Twitter account recognized 's efforts at COP26, where he presented the winners of his Earthshot Prize.

In her video speech, the Queen also praised Prince Charles and Prince William for their contributions to combating climate change.

Notably absent from her remarks was any mention of Harry, who stepped down from his official royal duties last year.

One individual who did respond to Archule's pledge was Piers Morgan.

He shared an image of a plane with the words “Net Zero” coming out of its exhaust, accompanied by the caption, “Did they pledge this from aboard Sir Elton's jet or the Clooney one?”

This tweet was met with four laughing emojis.

In a statement released by Archule, Meghan and Harry emphasized their dedication to achieving net zero carbon emissions.

They acknowledged that while they have made efforts to offset their carbon footprint, they now recognize the need to do even better.

The couple plans to work with an independent consultant to track all activities related to Archule, ensuring a clear understanding of their collective environmental impact.

As the Cambridges prepare to captivate audiences at the Royal Variety performance, the silence surrounding Meghan and Harry's green pledge continues to raise questions.

Will the couple's commitment to carbon neutrality be acknowledged by the royal family in the near future?

Only time will tell.
