Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have made an unconventional request ahead of their visit to Canada for the upcoming Winter Games.

The couple, who are set to mark the commencement of the event in Vancouver Whistler, have instructed officials from the Invictus Games to address them as “Sir” and “Mom” during their stay.

During a conversation with Scott Moore, a veteran and the newly appointed CEO of the Invictus Games, the couple clarified how they wish to be addressed upon their arrival.

As reported by Richard Eden in the Daily Mail, Moore shared, “I did make sure to ask how I should be addressing them when they get here.

I was told a simple, Sir and Mom's fine.”

Traditionally, members of the royal family are greeted with specific titles by the public.

Male royals are usually addressed as “Your Royal Highness” followed by “Sir,” while female royals are greeted with “Your Royal Highness” and then “Mom.”

However, due to Harry and Meghan's decision to step back from their senior roles, they no longer hold the title of “Your Royal Highness.”

Instead, they retain their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles.

This choice to be referred to as “Sir” and “Mom” marks a departure from Harry's previous directive in 2020 when he requested to be addressed simply as “Harry” during a tourism conference in Edinburgh.
