Samantha Markle’s Defamation Lawsuit Against Meghan Markle Set for Trial

Samantha Markle, the half-sister of , is set to have her day in court as a trial date has been scheduled in her defamation lawsuit against the Duchess.

The trial is expected to commence on November 4th, 2024, and could last up to five days.

Samantha is seeking $75,000 in damages.

The lawsuit stems from allegations that Samantha was defamed during the highly publicized interview between , Meghan, and in 2021.

Initially, a judge in Florida dismissed the suit, stating that Meghan's claims would be difficult to disprove.

However, following amendments to the lawsuit, the same judge now appears to believe that there is merit to Samantha's claims.

During the interview, Meghan made references to growing up as an only child, which Samantha resented.

Samantha alleges that she had a normal sibling relationship with her younger half-sister and feels defamed by Meghan's comments.

In a decision dated November 14th, the judge set a trial date for November 2024, with prior in-person meetings scheduled.

While awaiting a ruling on 's motion to dismiss, Samantha's lawyer, Peter Tickton, remains hopeful that the case will proceed.

“I do believe though that this judge is fair and will do the right thing,” Tickton stated.

“My argument on the motion to dismiss should carry the day, and I'm optimistic as we're in the right.”

Samantha, who battles multiple sclerosis and relies on a wheelchair, claims that Meghan's comments have subjected her to humiliation and hatred.

She argues that Meghan's words in the interview were demonstrably false and malicious.

Samantha further asserts that these comments have negatively impacted the sales of her book, “The Diary of Princess Pushy's Sister, Part 1.”

Despite facing challenges, Samantha remains resolute in her pursuit to prove Meghan wrong.

Following a recent hearing over the libel lawsuit, Samantha expressed optimism about her chances of winning the case.

She believes that the truth will prevail and appreciates the opportunity to present the facts within the justice system.

Samantha acknowledges the complexities of relationships, stating, “People change, they have agendas, they have other things influencing their lives, but it doesn't change reality.

It doesn't change my heart.”

Samantha's lawsuit contends that certain statements made by Meghan during her interview with Oprah were false.

In particular, Samantha disputes Meghan's claim of growing up as an only child.

Samantha clarifies, “My brother, Thomas Markle Jr., and I were very clear that we were integral in her life until 12.

We taught her how to walk, we took her to school, we went to the duck pond – we were normal brothers and sisters.”

Samantha emphasizes the distinction between being an integral part of Meghan's life until the age of 12 and raising her.

As the trial date draws nearer, both parties await the judge's ruling on Meghan's motion to dismiss.

Samantha remains hopeful that justice will be served, while Meghan's team continues to contest the current lawsuit.

The legal battle between the estranged half-sisters shows no signs of subsiding, leaving many curious about the outcome and its potential impact on their relationship.
