Royal Rift: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Popularity Plummets Further

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are facing a fresh setback as a recent poll reveals a sharp decline in their popularity.

Despite already experiencing unfavorable ratings in recent years, the couple's standing has taken an even greater hit following the passing of the late Queen in September 2022.

According to a new Ipsos poll conducted while King Charles and the Princess of Wales were recuperating from health scares, the public sentiment towards Harry and Meghan has significantly dropped.

The survey found that nearly half, 47%, of respondents hold an unfavorable opinion of Prince Harry.

Conversely, only 23% of those polled expressed a positive view of him, marking a 7% decrease compared to the previous poll conducted in 2023.

Similarly, Meghan Markle's popularity has also seen a sharp decline, with 54% of individuals holding an unfavorable opinion of her.

Merely 18% of participants indicated a positive perception of Meghan, showcasing a 5% decrease.

This marks Meghan's lowest ranking in the past five years, signifying a notable shift in public opinion.

In contrast, Prince William emerges as the most favored royal figure, as per the latest Ipsos poll.

His popularity remains steadfast, with 62% of respondents holding a positive view of the future king.

Following closely behind is his wife, Catherine, the Princess of Wales, with a 61% positive rating.

Notably, experts suggest that Prince William and Princess Catherine are unlikely to reconcile with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, as the former couple's actions have reportedly strained their relationship with the royal family.

Royal commentator Duncan Larcombe opines that Prince Harry may be seeking to mend fences with his relatives, especially in light of recent health issues faced by King Charles and the Princess of Wales.

There is speculation that Harry is now inclined towards reconciliation, with hopes for a fresh start in the new year.

However, lingering tensions between Meghan and Kate pose a significant challenge, with animosity persisting on both sides.

Following the hospitalization of Catherine and King Charles for separate health concerns, reports emerged of the Sussexes reaching out to convey their well wishes.

Nonetheless, sources indicate that Prince William and Princess Catherine have distanced themselves from Prince Harry and Meghan, signaling a definitive end to their once-close relationship.

While there may be a glimmer of hope for reconciliation between Prince Charles and his son, the rift between William and Kate appears irreparable.
