Royal Family’s Popularity Takes a Hit, New Poll Reveals
In a surprising turn of events, a recent poll has unveiled a significant dip in the popularity of several key members of the British royal family, including Princess Kate, King Charles, and Queen Camilla.
This decline is raising eyebrows and prompting discussions about the future of the monarchy in the UK.
The poll, conducted by IPSOS, surveyed 1,089 British citizens aged between 18 and 75 from November 8 to November 11.
The results indicate that public support for the royal family has waned considerably over the past two months.
The figures show a stark contrast to the previous sentiments expressed in September, suggesting a shift in public opinion.
Princess Kate, who previously enjoyed a favorability score of 66%, has seen her rating slip to 64%.
While still holding the position as the second most popular royal, the drop signals a potential concern for the Princess of Wales.
Interestingly, only 10% of respondents reported a negative view of her, while 22% remained neutral, and a mere 3% were unsure about their stance.
King Charles, now in fourth place among the royals, has also experienced a decline.
His popularity has dropped from 56% to 51%, reflecting a loss of five points.
Among those surveyed, 23% had a negative opinion of the King, while 24% expressed neutrality, and another 3% were uncertain.
Queen Camilla faced the most significant decrease in popularity, landing in sixth place with a favorability score of just 35%.
This marks a six-point drop from her previous score of 41%.
The poll revealed that 33% of respondents viewed her unfavorably, while 29% held no strong opinion, and 3% were unsure.
Even Princess Anne, often regarded as a steadfast member of the family, saw her approval ratings fall by seven points, dropping from 62% in September to 55% in November.
The overall trend indicates a troubling decline for the royal family, which has seen its popularity decrease from 52% to 50% in just two months.
Interestingly, the only royal to maintain a steady favorability score was the Prince of Wales, who remains at 65%.
Meanwhile, the Duke of Sussex, despite his controversies, recorded a slight increase, rising to 30%, up from 28% in September.
On the other hand, Meghan Markle's popularity continues to slide, with only 20% of respondents expressing a positive opinion of her—down from 21% two months ago.
