Royal Family in Crisis: Clues Suggest Reconciliation Unlikely
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this year has left the royal family in turmoil.
While many hope for a future reconciliation, a recent clue in the family's response to the couple's baby news indicates a different story.
Australian TV presenter Lisa Wilkinson pointed out that certain members of the royal family omitted Harry and Meghan's royal titles when congratulating them on the birth of their daughter, Lilibet.
Wilkinson observed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Charles, and the Duchess of Cornwall all refrained from using Harry and Meghan's royal titles in their messages of congratulations.
The only exception was Queen Elizabeth II, who did refer to their titles.
This omission has sparked a wider discussion about whether the Sussexes should relinquish their titles due to their relentless criticism of the royal family.
The fact that the Cambridge's, Prince Charles, and the Duchess of Cornwall did not acknowledge Harry and Meghan's royal titles could be seen as a subtle hint that they are no longer considered part of the royal family.
In an official congratulatory message on Instagram, Prince William and Kate Middleton referred to the Sussexes by their first names, saying, “We are all delighted by the happy news of the arrival of baby Lily.
Congratulations to Harry, Meghan, and Archie.”
Similarly, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles also failed to use the Sussexes' royal titles in their message, writing, “Congratulations to Harry, Meghan, and Archie on the arrival of baby Lilibet Diana.”
However, Queen Elizabeth did mention the couple as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in her official statement, which could be interpreted as a subtle indication that their relationship remains intact.
In their interview with Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry expressed his respect for his grandmother, while Meghan Markle praised the Queen, saying, “The Queen has always been wonderful to me.”
However, the couple's revelations during the interview, including allegations of racism and lack of support from the royal family, have further strained their relationship with the monarchy.
Prince Harry also suggested in a recent documentary series that his father, Prince Charles, had allowed his children to suffer due to his own negative experiences within the royal family.
These revelations have added fuel to the fire and deepened the rift between the Sussexes and the rest of the royals.
The aftermath of Harry and Meghan's interview continues to cast a shadow over the royal family.
While some hope for reconciliation in the future, the omission of their royal titles in congratulatory messages indicates that the road to healing may be more challenging than anticipated.
