Royal Expert Speculates King Charles’ Plan to Slim Down Monarchy as Mike Tyndall Appears on “I’m a Celebrity”
As Mike Tyndall continues his journey in the “I'm a Celebrity, get me out of here” jungle, a royal expert has suggested that this may have solidified King Charles' intentions to streamline the monarchy.
On Sunday, November 6, Mike, 44, made his debut on the show, becoming the first member of the royal family to participate alongside celebrities such as Boy George, Charlene White, Owen Warner, and Jill Scott.
While Prince Harry has faced criticism for his commercial ventures with companies like Netflix, royal journalist Katie Nicholl sees no difference in Mike's television appearance.
During an episode of True Royalty TV's The Royal Beat, host Kate Thornton spoke with Katie about the increasing commercialization of the royals.
Katie stated, “This all leads to the much bigger question about royals and commercialization.”
She further emphasized that Mike's decision to enter the jungle truly reinforces King Charles' argument and vision.
This discussion arises following reports in October suggesting that King Charles might follow Queen Margareth of Denmark's example and strip Harry and Meghan Markle of their royal titles.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams previously mentioned that while King Charles has no obligation to follow the Scandinavian monarch's lead, it may appear fitting during challenging times for the country.
However, recent reports indicate that Charles has decided against implementing such plans and will maintain the current 11 working royals as they are.
A senior royal source revealed, “These are things that are all being looked at as part of a wider review at the moment.”
The current working royals include Charles and Camilla, Prince William and Princess Kate of Wales, Prince Edward and Princess Sophie, Princess Anne, Prince Richard and his wife Birgit, as well as Princess Alexandra.
In addition to discussing Charles' alleged plan to streamline the monarchy, Katie also mentioned the possibility of Princess Anne, Mike's mother-in-law, watching “I'm a Celebrity.”
Katie described Anne as a no-nonsense woman and stated that the idea of her supporting or voting for Mike is unthinkable.
She suggested that Anne would likely question his decision and wonder, “What is he doing?”
