Royal Critic Raises Concerns Over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Family Privacy
A royal critic has raised concerns over the privacy of Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children while residing in the United States.
Despite their efforts to lead a more secluded life away from their royal duties, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are finding it challenging to evade public scrutiny, as highlighted by critic Daniela Elza.
Elza pointed out a recent incident on July 4 when unauthorized images surfaced of Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their son Archie attending a parade in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
These photos, taken by a fellow parade-goer, captured the royal family members in a candid moment, raising questions about the extent of their newfound privacy.
Although the images have since been removed, Elza emphasized the significance of such intrusions into the Sussexes' private lives.
She expressed doubts about the couple's ability to shield themselves and their children, including 3-year-old Archie and newborn Lilibet, from the constant surveillance they face in the US.
In a piece for News.com.au, Elza highlighted the allure of the royal family to tabloid sites like TMZ and Radar Online, emphasizing the market for mundane snapshots of celebrities.
Despite not attaining the same level of popularity as global icons like Beyoncé, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle remain subjects of intense public interest.
Elza underscored the vulnerability of the Sussex family to invasive photography, warning that even simple outings could attract unwanted attention.
She particularly voiced concern for Archie and Lilibet, who are growing up in an environment where their every move could be commodified for public consumption.
On a different note, commentator Eric Schiffer suggested that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle view their children, Archie and Lilibet, as potential mediators in reconciling with the rest of the royal family.
Schiffer believes that the royal couple sees their children as a “secret weapon” capable of bridging the divide between them and other family members, including Queen Elizabeth.
Speaking to Express UK from California, Schiffer expressed confidence that the Queen will eventually meet Lilibet and Archie, facilitating a reunion within the family.
He stressed that Prince Harry and Meghan understand the symbolic importance of their children in fostering unity among the royals.
Despite their relocation to California and their decision to step back from senior royal duties, Prince Harry and Meghan have yet to introduce their children to the UK royals.
The Queen has also not had the opportunity to meet her great-granddaughter, Lilibet, in person, adding a layer of complexity to the family dynamics.
