Royal Couple Harry and Meghan Begin Faux Royal Tour in Nigeria

and made a grand entrance into Nigeria this morning, marking the commencement of their simulated royal tour following their arrival from London.

The Daily Mail reported that Meghan had flown solo from Los Angeles to Heathrow before reuniting with her husband at the airport's exclusive VIP Windsor suite.

Subsequently, the couple boarded a British Airways overnight flight bound for Abuja, albeit encountering a slight delay as a replacement pilot had to be arranged due to the scheduled pilot falling ill.

Upon their early morning touchdown in Nigeria, Harry and Meghan were swiftly escorted off the plane while fellow passengers were held back.

As they disembarked, the couple shared smiles with the cabin crew, showcasing their amiable demeanor.

Nigerian officials warmly welcomed them at Abuja Namiazic International Airport, guiding them discreetly through a side exit to a waiting blacked-out minibus.

Meghan was clad in black trousers and a brown jacket, while Harry followed suit in a black jacket, trousers, and an open-necked shirt.

Their luggage was dutifully carried by aides, accompanied by a familiar security team that had previously guarded Harry during his stay in London.

It is understood that the couple will be accommodated at the opulent TransCorp Hilton in Abuja, with the presidential suite boasting a nightly rate of £600.

Despite the absence of private jet-owning acquaintances and a declined offer from the White House for Air Force One, Harry and Meghan opted for a commercial flight, securing a private area behind the curtains.

Notably, they retained the means to finance aides for baggage handling and security services.

Regrettably, their strained relationship with the royal family led to missed opportunities for royal treatment and a warm welcome as representatives of the monarchy.

During their stay in Nigeria, the couple intends to spectate a volleyball match and visit military hospitals and charitable organizations in both Abuja and Lagos.

The Defence HQ disclosed their detailed itinerary during a press briefing on Thursday, May 8, highlighting planned interactions with injured armed forces personnel and their families.

The visit will commence with a modest reception, reminiscent of a serene morning with Lim Kwe Sun and coffee.

The invitation for this visit was extended by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, subsequent to their encounter at the Invictus Games in Dorf, Germany, last September.

The Sussexes are anticipated to tour the Wolite Academy before engaging with Nigeria's security leadership.

Notably, a visit to the Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna Estate is scheduled, where they will spend time with recovering soldiers.

An exhibition volleyball match between the Chief of Defence Staff team and the Dukes team will precede a reception where Harry and Meghan will interact with military families and service members.

Their agenda further includes a meeting with Governor Babish Sanoolo of Lega State and attendance at a local school's basketball exhibition match.

The visit will culminate in a final reception on Monday, marking the conclusion of their eventful sojourn in Nigeria.
