Ricky Gervais Takes Aim at Meghan Markle’s Latest Netflix Venture

Just when you thought 's Netflix adventures had reached their peak, a new series titled “With Love Meghan” has hit the scene, and it's already stirring up quite the controversy.

Enter Ricky Gervais, the unapologetic comedian known for his razor-sharp wit, who is not holding back in his critique of this latest project.

According to YouTuber Mike Zero, who typically dives into Disney and Marvel content but couldn't resist commenting on this spectacle, Gervais has taken a flamethrower to the show's trailer.

He bluntly labeled it as nonsense, questioning the appeal of watching navigate cooking and gardening.

It's a valid point—who really wants to tune in to see someone struggle with burnt toast while attempting to wax poetic about love?

Gervais went further, criticizing the series for its lack of authenticity.

After all, nothing screams genuine like a show filmed in a house that doesn't even belong to the star.

The concept itself seems muddled, blending elements of cooking shows with mockumentary vibes.

Is it meant to be a whimsical take on “The Great British Bake Off” or a comedic twist akin to “The Office”?

Honestly, even Netflix seems unsure.

The reception of the trailer?

A resounding flop.

Social media erupted with users expressing their disbelief and disdain.

One commenter succinctly captured the sentiment: “Worst show ever.

Markle is as fake as they come.” Another user pointed out the irony of Markle seeking privacy while simultaneously signing a Netflix deal.

Ouch.

The backlash didn't stop there.

Meghan McCain, once an ally, has now thrown her support behind critics of Markle.

She slammed Meghan for being utterly tone-deaf, especially given the current tumultuous state of affairs in America.

With ongoing crises from terror attacks to economic struggles, McCain questioned the relevance of Markle's gardening escapades.

She suggested that Meghan could have focused on something truly impactful, like a show promoting access to fresh food in underserved communities.

Meanwhile, Gervais didn't spare Netflix either, calling out the streaming giant for its apparent disconnect from audience desires.

With subscriber numbers dwindling, Gervais predicts that “With Love Meghan” will be a spectacular failure, further damaging Netflix's reputation.

Yet, despite the negative feedback, the platform is reportedly pushing ahead with more projects featuring Markle, raising eyebrows about their investment choices.

Netflix hyped the series on X with the tagline “love is the details,” but viewers quickly pointed out that the details were anything but flattering.

From the artificial settings to Meghan's stilted delivery, it became clear that this project was more about crafting an image than delivering genuine content.

One viewer aptly summarized the overall vibe: “She can thank the royal family for this tone-deaf, arrogant, out-of-touch, fake, desperate excuse of a series.” Without the royal connection, they argued, she might just be another person struggling to find her footing.

Gervais, known for his unfiltered opinions, emphasized that entertainment should elevate audiences rather than insult them with superficiality.

He's advocating for a shift in what we consider valuable content.

If Netflix truly wishes to regain viewer loyalty, perhaps it should invest in creators who genuinely contribute to the conversation instead of relying on a former duchess caught between wanting privacy and seeking the spotlight.

As the dust settles on this latest debacle, one thing is certain: the world is watching, and the critiques are only getting louder.
