Reigniting a Royal Feud: Princess Catherine Slaps Harry for Omitting the Truth in Heart of Invictus
The highly anticipated Netflix documentary series, Heart of Invictus, has finally been released, but it seems to have sparked a new feud within the royal family.
In this latest offering, Prince Harry is noticeably ignoring an inconvenient truth, leading to a painful slap from Princess Catherine.
As we delve into the details, welcome back to the Kate Middleton and the Queen News YouTube channel.
As a journalist, I often experience déjà vu, and recently, I endured almost six hours of tortured pouting and mediocre iPhone photos in the form of Harry and Meghan's Netflix docuseries.
Now, Harry is back on camera, back on Netflix, and seemingly determined to make the royal family appear as useless as possible.
Heart of Invictus, a five-episode documentary series, follows the journey of a small group of competitors as they prepare for the 2022 Invictus Games in The Hague.
The emotional rollercoaster presented in this series will undoubtedly leave viewers reaching for tissues.
The Ukrainian volunteer medic, Yulia, captures some of the most powerful and haunting footage inside a frontline field hospital.
However, amidst all the remarkable stories, we must address Harry's role as the executive producer and his apparent attempt at DIY historical revisionism.
One glaring omission in Heart of Invictus is the significant part played by the royal family and Harry's membership within it in the story of Invictus.
If someone were to watch this series without any prior knowledge of the games, they would be left with the impression that Harry, a man with children and dogs, single-handedly created the entire event.
The narrative revolves around Harry's journey, starting with his time in Afghanistan and his subsequent decision to help veterans and return service personnel.
However, the series conveniently ignores the contributions of William and Catherine, the Prince and Princess of Wales.
The royal family's involvement in mental health work is entirely left out, giving the impression that Harry was the sole advocate for this cause.
In reality, Catherine became a patron of the children's mental health charity, Place to Be, early on, and later joined the Anna Freud Centre and Maternal Mental Health Alliance.
Together, William, Catherine, and Harry established Heads Together in 2016 through their shared royal foundation.
The initiative aimed to encourage open discussions about depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts.
The impact of their work was undeniable, as seen in the success of the Every Mind Matters website, which crashed due to overwhelming traffic.
While Harry undoubtedly deserves credit for his role in creating the Invictus Games, it is essential not to overlook the support provided by the Royal Foundation in its development.
The series fails to acknowledge the power of the crown and the resources at Harry's disposal, which made the games possible.
It feels petty and incomplete to ignore the contributions of William and Catherine, who have been fighting for mental health awareness for years.
Despite the controversy surrounding Heart of Invictus, I still recommend watching it.
The series is incredibly moving and inspirational, aside from the occasional scene of Harry in Zoom meetings.
Be prepared to shed tears and have a box of tissues nearby.
