Reconciliation Hopes Dashed as Sussexes Show Anger at Royal Family’s Lack of Sympathy

Prospects of reconciliation between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family following the Queen's death appeared short-lived as there was little interaction during the funeral on Monday.

Tom Bower, a renowned royal expert and author of “Revenge, Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors,” believes that the Sussexes will return to California feeling furious after receiving very little sympathy from the royal family following the passing of II.

Speaking on GB News, Mr. Bower stated that Harry and Meghan seemed visibly angry during the funeral because they felt that they were not being given the respect they believe they deserve.

Rumors had circulated that tensions between the Sussexes and the Cambridges had improved over the past fortnight, with both couples appearing together the weekend after the Queen's death.

However, Mr. Bower dismissed notions of reconciliation, citing the hurtful comments made by Meghan and Harry in the past.

He expressed his belief that the way the rest of the royal family treated the couple during the funeral demonstrated their lack of sympathy towards them.

In return, he noted that Meghan and Harry appeared resentful for not being treated with the respect they feel entitled to.

Mr. Bower predicted that the couple would return to Montecito, California, seething with anger, and suggested that 's autobiography would soon be released.

Mr. Bower also expressed curiosity about the conversation between Sophie Wessex and during their limousine ride from Westminster Hall to the church.

He speculated whether Sophie, known for her frankness, told Meghan what the royal family truly thought of her.

In his view, the idea that the body language between William and Harry indicated reconciliation was nonsensical.

He argued that it is impossible to reconcile when Harry and Meghan have made such hurtful remarks about William and his wife, leaving no grounds for sympathy unless the Sussexes apologize.

Following the Queen's death, and Meghan, accompanied by and Kate, appeared outside Windsor Castle to greet well-wishers and receive tributes to their grandmother.

Their interaction brought back memories of the “Fab Four” era before the Sussexes' acrimonious split from the Royals in 2020.

The two couples exchanged words and seemed to be getting along.

Unlike at 's funeral in 2021, where the brothers had to be separated during the procession, this time they stood together as the Queen's coffin made its way to Westminster Hall.

It gave the impression that the loss of their grandmother had, to some extent, brought the brothers closer.

However, the funeral and burial of the late monarch on Monday painted a different picture.

Although Harry and William once again stood side by side during the processions, there was no eye contact and minimal interaction between them.

Standing on opposite sides of the aisle at Westminster Abbey, it resembled the St Paul's Cathedral Thanksgiving service during the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, where the two did not communicate at all.

Reports also emerged that the Sussexes' invitation to a reception attended by world leaders on Sunday evening was revoked, indicating that relations remained frosty.

Since stepping down from their royal duties, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have relocated to Los Angeles, California.

During an inauguration speech, conveyed his best wishes to the couple, expressing his love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas.

The future of the relationship between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family remains uncertain, with the funeral revealing the deep-rooted tensions that still persist.
