Queen’s 70th Jubilee: Harry’s Plea for Final Ticket Met with Surprising Response

The Queen is set to celebrate the 70th year of her reign on February 6th, but unlike previous years, she rarely makes public appearances on the anniversary of her accession.

Instead, she prefers to spend the day privately, as it also marks the anniversary of her father's passing, King George VI.

Last weekend, the Queen traveled to Sandringham by helicopter, where she traditionally spends her winter break.

This decision was made as a precautionary measure due to the rising cases of COVID-19 during the Christmas holidays when she remained at Windsor Castle.

King George VI passed away on February 6th, 1952, at Sandringham House.

Princess Elizabeth, now II, received the news of her father's death while on a trip to Kenya with in 1952.

Their plans to visit Australia and New Zealand were canceled, and they returned to the UK.

The Queen's coronation took place the following year in June 1953 and became the first televised coronation.

There is a possibility that the public may catch a glimpse of the monarch on the day that officially marks the 70th year of her reign.

A Sunday service at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham could provide an opportunity for the Queen to be seen.

However, due to the pandemic, the Queen has mostly worshipped in private.

During her Diamond Jubilee in 2012, II visited a school in Kings Lynn, breaking her tradition of private celebrations.

Plans have now been announced to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee this year, with a four-day bank holiday weekend in June.

The events will include the Queen's annual Birthday Parade, Trooping the Colour, a service of Thanksgiving, a concert at Buckingham Palace, and the Big Jubilee Lunch.

The Platinum Jubilee celebration, taking place from May 12th to 15th, will feature 1,000 performers and 500 horses commemorating significant moments in royal history.

The 90-minute performance will include actors, musicians, and global equestrian displays.

Fortnum & Mason have also launched a Platinum Pudding competition to find a dish dedicated to the Queen's 70 years on the throne.

Expert judges, including Dame Mary Berry, will evaluate the recipes.

In a surprising turn of events, Queen Elizabeth II has extended an invitation to her grandson and to join the royal family for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations next summer.

The couple, who stepped back from their royal duties last year to live in the US, are expected to attend the Queen's official Birthday Parade, Trooping the Colour, as part of the four-day festivities.

However, it remains uncertain if they will stand on the Buckingham Palace balcony alongside the Queen and other senior royals during the traditional Royal Air Force flyover.

A royal source shared that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been invited, and the Queen is eagerly anticipating their presence.

The decision regarding the balcony appearance will be made closer to the date, considering the limited number of family members who can participate.

The source added that working royals who contribute to the family would likely have higher priority than the Sussexes.

Prince Charles, who plans to streamline the monarchy when he becomes king, is believed to support a reduced presence on the balcony.

However, supporters of Harry and Meghan may interpret their exclusion as validation of their claims of mistreatment from the royal family.

recently returned to England for his grandfather 's funeral but reportedly did not have one-on-one time with his father, Charles.

He is expected to return to the UK next week to unveil a statue of his late mother, , while Charles retreats to his Scottish estate during the ceremony.

In addition to these developments, Queen Elizabeth II has introduced her own brand of premium tomato ketchup and brown sauce.

However, these products come with a royal price tag and are exclusively available for sale at her Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

As preparations for the Platinum Jubilee continue, all eyes are on the Queen and the potential reunion with Prince Harry and during this historic celebration of her remarkable 70-year reign.
