Queen Elizabeth’s Unique Gift to Palace Staff Fetches Staggering Sum

A unique gift from II to palace staff, presented shortly before her passing, is anticipated to fetch an impressive sum of £5,000 at auction.

The late Queen bestowed a limited-edition watch upon her staff in honor of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, commemorating her remarkable 70-year reign in 2022.

This exquisite Bremont Supermarine S300 watch showcases the royal coat of arms and II's crown on its face, reflecting a symbol of regal elegance.

Crafted as part of a special commission by the Royal Stables for a select group of staff members, the watch holds significant historical value.

With only 50 pieces produced, this exclusive timepiece was exclusively available to individuals serving the royal family.

The watch is currently being auctioned by an undisclosed seller through Noonan's Auctions in Mayfair, with an estimated value ranging between £3,000 and £5,000.

The auction commenced on June 11th at midday, leaving intrigue as to whether the seller remains connected to the palace staff.

Renowned historian Christopher Wilson expressed admiration for the watch's desirability, predicting a fervent response from collectors eager to acquire this rare piece.

Speculation arises as to why such a personal gift, created recently, is now being placed for sale.

Wilson pondered whether the original recipient felt hesitant to wear it, given the watch's intimate connection to the Queen.

Fashioned from stainless steel with a rubber strap, the watch comes accompanied by a leather case and warranty card, showcasing minor scratches while maintaining excellent condition.

The Queen's Platinum Jubilee, celebrated in 2022, marked a significant milestone in her enduring reign.

As preparations for the grand event unfolded, Prince Charles stood in for the Queen at various engagements amidst concerns regarding her health.

In her Jubilee address, Queen Elizabeth expressed gratitude to the public for orchestrating celebratory events and anticipated the creation of joyful memories during the four-day weekend filled with street festivities honoring her seven decades on the throne.

Tragically, the world mourned the loss of the beloved Queen on September 8th, as she peacefully passed away at the age of 96 in her cherished residence at Balmoral, situated in Scotland.

Renowned royal expert Giles Brandreth recounted the Queen's reflective demeanor in her final months, speculating on her awareness that her 96th birthday would mark her final year.

Brandreth shared poignant moments from his book, “Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait,” detailing the Queen's fondness for revisiting old home movies with her family, encapsulating her sentimental journey towards the end of her remarkable life.
