The decision to bestow the Princess Royal title onto Princess Charlotte lies with her father, Prince William, and may not happen immediately.

Currently, Princess Anne, known as Anne, Princess Royal, is accompanying her late mother's coffin as it travels from Balmoral to Edinburgh.
