Queen Confirms Removal from Succession Line, Pushing Wills Closer to Throne in Upcoming UK Trip
Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, was reportedly eager to take on the future role of king that his older brother, Prince William, is destined for.
This revelation comes from a royal commentator who spoke to Express.co.uk.
The young Duke of Sussex will be returning to the UK for the first time since the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.
Alongside his wife, Meghan Markle, he will visit London, Manchester, and Germany for a special Invictus Games event.
It remains uncertain whether the couple will meet with any members of the royal family during their visit.
While there are reports that they plan to see the Queen, it has been claimed that they have no intentions of meeting with Prince William and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge.
In the meantime, Prince William and Kate are preparing to move out of their London residence in Kensington Palace.
They will be relocating to Adelaide Cottage, a four-bedroom property on the Windsor estate.
This move will bring them closer to the Queen, who resides in Windsor Castle, enabling them to take on more responsibilities within the monarchy.
Both William and Kate are expected to assume new roles in the near future.
Although not officially confirmed, it is likely that William will become the next Prince of Wales, taking over the title from his father, Prince Charles, once he ascends to the throne.
Additionally, the Duchess is rumored to adopt the title of Princess of Wales, making her the first to use that style since Princess Diana.
While William's future within the royal family has always been predetermined, it doesn't mean he was always content with the path laid out for him.
Conversely, Prince Harry eagerly awaited the opportunity to assume the responsibility that came with being the future king.
Kinsey Schofield, founder of the LA-based royal site Tiddyfordaily.com, shared with Express.co.uk that Harry had offered to take on the top job for his brother.
She revealed that Diana, Princess of Wales, wanted Harry to feel equal and worthy, even when they were growing up.
William would dismiss the idea of becoming king, but Harry would assert, “I'll do it for you.
I'll be King.”
Diana appreciated Harry's ambition and passion for such a role.
James Patterson, a respected author who recently explored Princess Diana's role as a mother, supported Schofield's claim.
He recounted how the nickname “Good King Harry” came about when William expressed his disinterest in becoming king and Harry responded by saying he would gladly take on the role.
Despite his eagerness, Harry's offer was not accepted, and William is now destined to fulfill his role as a future monarch.
While William has dedicated himself to a life of duty, Harry is no longer a working member of the royal family.
In early 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their decision to step down from their senior roles within the monarchy and relocate to the US.
In other news, Prince Harry's upcoming memoir has royal expert Daniela Elza predicting that Queen Elizabeth may face the highest price.
Elza, in her column for news.com.au, suggests that the Duke of Sussex has many grievances to air, which could make his book an explosive revelation for Buckingham Palace.
Elza references Tom Bower's recent claims that the prince will settle scores with his family and friends in his memoir.
She concludes that even if Harry only portrays his grandmother in a positive light, his memoir could still be seen as a betrayal to her majesty.
