Princess Kate’s Risky Christmas Gift for the Late Queen Elizabeth
Princess Kate, the wife of Prince William and future queen, recently revealed that she once gave a Christmas present to the late Queen Elizabeth that could have gone horribly wrong.
As a member of the royal family, Kate now joins in the Christmas festivities at Sandringham.
However, this tradition started only after her wedding to Prince William in 2011.
Reflecting on her first time at Sandringham, Kate shared the challenges of finding the perfect gift for her in-laws, especially when they are members of the royal family.
In a video commemorating the late monarch's 90th birthday in 2016, Kate admitted feeling anxious about what to get Queen Elizabeth for Christmas.
“I remember my first Christmas at Sandringham,” she said.
“I was anxious about what to get the Queen for Christmas.
Oh my goodness, what should I get her?”
Kate eventually came up with what she believed was the ideal gift, but it carried a potential risk.
“I thought, I'll make her something,” she continued.
“I chose to make chutney using my grandmother's recipe instead.”
Despite her efforts, Kate still had some concerns about the gift even after seeing it on the table the next day.
This was not the first time Kate had taken such a personal approach to gift-giving.
She has shown her caring and concern for others through thoughtful gestures on numerous occasions.
“I feel like such a small gesture went a long way for me,” she shared.
It is clear that Kate's intention was to make a meaningful impact with her gift, regardless of any potential mishaps.
As the royal family prepares for this year's Christmas celebrations at Sandringham, changes are expected.
King Charles, who will be celebrating his second Christmas as king, is rumored to have made a few alterations to the guest list.
