Princess Kate Hosts Special Carol Service with Prince William and Children
Princess Kate, alongside her husband Prince William, hosted a heartwarming carol service called “Together at Christmas.”
The event, which aired on ITV on Christmas Eve, featured the couple's two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
The young royals impressed everyone with their impeccable behavior and even showcased their singing talents during the service.
One adorable moment caught on camera was when Princess Charlotte confidently sang along to the hymn “Away in a Manger.”
A Twitter user shared a video of the seven-year-old holding a hymn sheet and a candle while beautifully executing the song.
Both Prince George and Princess Charlotte held candles and the program of the service as they joined in singing the carols and hymns chosen for the occasion.
The carol service included performances by the St. Mary's Ukrainian Choir and special guests such as Craig David, Alexis French, and Samantha Barks.
Among the songs sung by attendees was the classic “O Come, All Ye Faithful.”
The siblings arrived at the Abbey in central London hand in hand with their parents, marking their first attendance at such an event.
Princess Charlotte mirrored her mother's style by wearing a burgundy coat with a fake fur collar.
She completed her look with black Mary Jane shoes.
Meanwhile, Prince George looked dashing in a coat, blue trousers, and black shoes, resembling his father, who wore a blue, white, and burgundy tie.
Although Prince Louis did not attend due to his young age, many other members of the royal family showed their support for Kate's project.
King Charles and Queen Camilla were seated a few spaces away from Charlotte and George, while Sophie, Countess of Wessex, sat on the left-hand side.
Other royals present included Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, their husbands, Zara and Mike Tyndall, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
The annual carol service, organized by Princess Kate for the second consecutive year, aimed to recognize the selflessness of individuals and groups across the country who have made extraordinary efforts to help their communities.
The event emphasized the joy and importance of togetherness, especially after the challenging Christmas experienced during the lockdown in 2020.
This year's service was dedicated to the late Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away in September.
It celebrated the values she embodied throughout her life, such as duty, empathy, faith, service, kindness, compassion, and support for others.
Titled “Royal Carols, Together at Christmas,” the televised version of the event featured additional content, including an introduction by Kate, films highlighting remarkable individuals in attendance, and tributes to the late Queen.
The program was narrated by Catherine Zeta-Jones and included appearances by actor Hugh Bonneville and Dame Kristen Scott Thomas.
Prince William also took part in the service, delivering a reading.
In his speech, he reflected on a passage written by his grandmother, the Queen, for her 2012 Christmas address, which emphasized the spirit of togetherness.
Ahead of the broadcast, Kensington Palace released a video message from Kate, expressing her gratitude to the inspiring individuals invited to the service.
She highlighted the power of connectedness and community values, continuing the tradition set by Queen Elizabeth II of recognizing and thanking those who go above and beyond to support others.
As for the future, it remains to be seen if Prince George and Princess Charlotte will take on important roles within the royal family, potentially surpassing their cousins, the Sussexes.
