Princess Charlotte’s Birth Causes Strain in Prince William and Prince Harry’s Relationship

When was born on May 2, 2015, the Cambridges became a family of four.

and his wife Kate, Princess of Wales, welcomed their second child, adding to their family that already included their firstborn, Prince George, who was born just under two years prior.

However, the addition of the new family member seemed to have strained William's relationship with his younger brother, , according to royal author Tina Brown.

In her book, “The Palace Papers,” Brown cited a former aide who claimed that the bond between the two brothers had changed since William's marriage to Kate, and it grew even further apart following the birth of .

According to the former aide, although they still lived next door to each other at KP, shared the same office, and spent a lot of time together, their relationship was not the same as before.

When the Cambridges welcomed their daughter in May 2015, it became clear that Kate desired to have more children.

This made Harry feel displaced by their close-knit family unit, and he struggled to understand his brother's fascination with Kate's Middleton family, whose lifestyle in Bucklebury bored him.

Brown described the Cambridges as a tight unit, with William fully embracing the Windsor Country lifestyle.

On weekends, when he wasn't with the Middletons, William could be found exploring the grounds of Anmer Hall, a red-brick Georgian mansion on the Sandringham estate gifted to the couple by the Queen.

Meanwhile, William grew tired of Harry's wild behavior, which he saw as excessive.

He did not find amusement in the infamous Strip Billiards incident in Las Vegas or Harry's frequent nights out at nightclubs with his rowdy friends.

William became increasingly frustrated with his younger brother's recklessness.

During the earlier years of Kate and William's marriage, the palace encouraged the trio to engage in joint activities and attend events together.

However, as the Cambridges' family grew, these joint engagements became less frequent.

Brown claimed that it became too awkward for Harry, who often felt like a third wheel when spending time with the couple.

The strained relationship between the brothers was a result of various factors, including William's dedication to his growing family and Harry's feeling of displacement.

The once-close bond they shared seemed to have been affected by these changes.

As time went on, their paths diverged, and their relationship became more distant.
