Princess Charlotte Expected to Break Tradition and Hold Title in Her Own Right

Princess Charlotte, the young daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, is rumored to break with tradition and hold a title in her own right.

However, when Prince Philip passed away in April 2021, the title automatically merged with the crown upon Prince Charles's coronation as King in September.

According to a royal insider, the King has reportedly kept the title with the intention of transferring it to Princess Charlotte as a final tribute to his late mother.

Discussions are ongoing, but it seems that Princess Charlotte is the King's preferred choice to hold this title.

It would be a fitting way to honor the line of succession and remember the Queen, who was known as the Duchess of Edinburgh.

In addition to the title of Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Charlotte may also assume the title of Princess Royal in the future.

As the eldest child of the future King, she would be eligible for this title, which is currently held by Princess Anne.
