Princess Beatrice Reveals New Royal Title at Royal Ascot
Princess Beatrice, daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, made a stunning appearance at Royal Ascot on Tuesday, where she unveiled her new royal title following her marriage to Edoardo Mappelli Mozzi.
The princess, who tied the knot with her husband recently, showcased how she combines her official royal title with her married name.
In a heartfelt tribute to her husband, Princess Beatrice donned a name badge that read HRH Princess Beatrice Mrs. Edoardo Mappelli Mozzi.
It is understood that guests in the royal enclosure at Royal Ascot have the freedom to choose how they want to be referred to on their name badges.
Adding a touch of personal flair to her ensemble, Princess Beatrice carried a fashionable clutch bag adorned with the initials BY, representing Beatrice York.
She looked elegant in a floaty pink floral dress, paired with a raffia fascinator adorned with pink flowers, during the first day of Royal Ascot.
The 33-year-old princess was in high spirits as she greeted her uncle, Prince Charles, with a kiss on the cheek upon her arrival at Royal Ascot.
She was also seen engaging in conversation with her cousin, Zara Tindall, throughout the race day.
Accompanied by her Italian husband, Princess Beatrice walked through the gates of the racing event and took their place in the third carriage of the royal procession.
They waved and smiled at the crowds gathered at the racecourse, exuding joy and happiness.
Princess Beatrice looked smart in a cream high-neck dress featuring a pleated skirt, complemented by a blackened cream trilby hat.
The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall led the carriage procession once again, followed by the Countess of Wessex.
Notably absent from the event was Queen Elizabeth II, who missed out on the racing event for the second consecutive day due to ongoing mobility issues.
This appearance comes shortly after Prince Andrew's absence from the Garter Day ceremony, following alleged lobbying by Prince William and Prince Charles.
In other news, Prince Andrew has reportedly been advocating for his daughters, Eugenie and Beatrice, to become working royals.
Both princesses hold the full HRH style and title as grandchildren of the Sovereign.
Princess Beatrice currently stands as 10th in line to the throne, while her younger sister holds the 12th position.
The legal basis for the line of succession dates back to the 17th century, during the reign of William III, also known as William of Orange.
The system of male primogeniture, which previously prioritized male heirs over their sisters, was abolished in 2013.
Additionally, the rule that a royal could not retain their position on the list if they married a Roman Catholic was also removed.
These changes came into effect in March 2015 but only apply to royal children born after October 28, 2011.
However, Lilibet, the daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, may slip further down the line of succession if any of William and Kate's children become parents in the future.
Currently, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis hold positions 3 to 5 on the list, following their father and grandfather, Prince Charles, who is first in line to the British throne.
At 72 years old, Prince Charles holds the record for being the longest-serving heir apparent in British history, having held the position since Princess Elizabeth ascended to the throne on February 6, 1952, when he was just three years old.
