Princess Beatrice Becomes Patron of British Skin Foundation, Focuses on Skin Cancer Research

Princess Beatrice, the aunt-to-be of Princess Eugenie's second child, has been confirmed as the patron of the British Skin Foundation.

In a surprise visit to meet skin scientists, Beatrice expressed her excitement following her first public appearance of 2023.

She visited London's Blizzard Institute at Queen Mary University of London to witness firsthand the efforts scientists are making to combat the rising numbers of skin cancer cases in the UK.

During her visit, Princess Beatrice donned a lab coat and explored the Centre for Cell Biology and Cutaneous Research alongside British Skin Foundation CEO Matthew Patey.

Sixty percent of the British population currently suffers from or has suffered from a skin disease or skin cancer, with many enduring lifelong physical or emotional effects.
