Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie Bid Farewell to Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey
Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, along with other senior members of the royal family, paid their final respects to Queen Elizabeth II today at Westminster Abbey.
However, confusion arose when mourners claimed that the sisters left the chapel early, even before the formal procession began.
Live streams from inside the abbey seemed to show the grief-stricken princesses getting up and leaving before the coffin had been carried out.
Their mother, Sarah Ferguson, was also seen getting up from her seat but quickly sat back down.
Accompanied by their respective husbands, Edoardo Mapelli-Mosi and Jack Brooksbank, Beatrice and Eugenie did not actually leave the premises.
They were pictured outside the chapel as the funeral procession passed by Canada Gate at Buckingham Palace.
The sisters then followed in a car and arrived at Wellington Arch to witness their grandmother's coffin being transferred into the state hearse.
They stood on either side of their father, Prince Andrew, as the Queen departed London for the final time.
After bidding farewell at Westminster Abbey, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, along with other members of the royal family, are now heading to Windsor for a more private burial service.
Upon entering Westminster Abbey through the Great West Door, they were accompanied by Arthur Chaddow, Daniel Chaddow, Mike Tyndall, Zara Tyndall, Jack Brooksbank, Edoardo Mapelli-Mosi, Lady Louise Windsor, and James Viscount Severn.
Inside the chapel, Beatrice sat next to the Duchess of Sussex before following the procession back towards Wellington Arch, passing Buckingham Palace.
As the sisters left the chapel, they appeared visibly solemn.
Roses were thrown in front of the hearse as it made its way westward to Windsor, and the crowds cheered as a sign of gratitude for the late Queen's years of service.
In a heartfelt tribute to their grandmother, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice expressed their profound loss and gratitude for her guidance and love throughout their lives.
They acknowledged the impact she had not only on their family but also on people worldwide.
The Queen's Coffin was transported in the State Hearse to Windsor, where a private burial service will be held.
Here, Queen Elizabeth II will be laid to rest alongside her beloved Prince Philip.
