Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli-Mosi Christen Daughter Sienna Elizabeth in Private Ceremony
Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli-Mosi, recently held a private christening for their seven-month-old daughter, Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli-Mosi, according to reports.
The ceremony took place at Chapel Royal St. James's Palace and was attended by close family members.
Although details of the event have not been disclosed, it is believed that Princess Eugenie, Beatrice's sister, and Sarah Ferguson, her mother, were present.
Initially, it was speculated that Sienna would be christened last November alongside other royal babies, August (Eugenie's son) and Lucas (Zara and Mike Tindall's son), in the presence of the Queen at the Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor.
However, Sienna was only two months old at the time, prompting Beatrice to wait a little longer before the ceremony.
This decision aligns with Beatrice's own upbringing, as she was christened at four months old, while Eugenie was christened at nine months old.
Before marrying Beatrice, Edoardo had a son named Christopher Wolfe with American architect Dara Hung in 2016.
After his relationship with Dara ended, he met Beatrice, and they started dating in 2018 before tying the knot in 2020.
Last September, Buckingham Palace officially announced the birth of Beatrice and Edoardo's daughter, Sienna.
The statement read, “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli-Mosi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter on Saturday 18th September 2021 at 23.42 at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London.
The baby weighs six pounds and two ounces.
The new baby's grandparents and great-grandparents have all been informed and are delighted with the news.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care.
Her Royal Highness and her children are both doing well, and the couple are looking forward to introducing their daughter to her big brother Christopher Wolfe.”
The news of Sienna's baptism comes after Beatrice and Edoardo traveled to Stockholm to attend the world's first Dyslexia Conference.
They joined Queen Sylvia, Prince Carlophilip, and Princess Sofia at the Royal Palace in Stockholm for the event organized by the global charity Made by Dyslexia.
Beatrice, who is an ambassador for the charity, aims to transform the perception of dyslexia by advocating for proper training and support for dyslexic individuals in educational and professional settings.
Beatrice herself was diagnosed with dyslexia at a young age, and she has been using her platform to raise awareness about the condition.
She believes that dyslexia has given her a unique perspective and problem-solving skills.
In an interview with Hello!
Magazine, she expressed gratitude for organizations like the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity, which provide additional support for dyslexic individuals and their families.
The Stockholm trip marked Beatrice and Edoardo's first official engagement since joining the royal family.
While Edoardo has accompanied Beatrice to various royal events, this was their first official trip abroad together.
Their close bond was evident at Prince Philip's memorial service, where Edoardo comforted Beatrice as she mourned the loss of her beloved grandfather.
The couple's wedding in 2020 was also a special moment, as it took place with the Queen and Prince Philip in attendance, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic.
Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli-Mosi continue to navigate their roles within the royal family while embracing opportunities to advocate for causes close to their hearts.
As they embark on their parenting journey with Sienna, they are grateful for the support and resources available to dyslexic individuals and hope to empower others with similar experiences.
