Princess Anne has been tipped as a potential replacement for Prince Harry, which has sparked excitement among royal watchers.

The Duke of Sussex, who now resides in California with Meghan Markle, had his honorary military titles stripped as part of the Megxit agreement.

It is reported that the Princess Royal, aged 71, will take on all of his previous positions and roles within the royal family.

This news prompted a flurry of praise for Queen Elizabeth's daughter on Twitter.

Recently, King Charles also acknowledged his younger sister's rightful place in the 21st century monarchy, disregarding traditional royal rules.

Gareth Russell, a biographer and commentator, appeared as a guest on the latest episode of the Royaliest Podcast, where he mentioned that King Charles seemed to pay tribute to Princess Anne for her unwavering service to the Queen and the Firm.

Princess Anne was chosen to accompany her mother's coffin on the long journey from Balmoral Castle to Edinburgh, and then on a flight to London.

Despite being 16th in line to the throne, Princess Anne has never been further away from the crown.

Known for her no-nonsense attitude, unchanging hairstyle, and strong work ethic, she has often remained out of the spotlight during her siblings' scandals and dramas.

However, as one of her brother's most trusted advisors, Anne's influence is expected to grow.

There are even reports that the new king intends to amend an 85-year-old law, resulting in the removal of his brother Prince Andrew, his son Prince Harry, and his niece Princess Beatrice from their positions as Counsellors of State.

This potential shake-up could lead to Princess Anne being promoted to a key position, filling in for Charles if he is unable to carry out official duties.

Currently, Princess Anne is not a Counsellor of State because, at the time of her birth, male heirs had priority over females in the line of succession.

Additionally, Prince Edward is too far down the order of succession to be considered.

However, if the law were changed to require only working royals to hold the position instead of those highest in the line of succession, both siblings could be elevated.

With the passing of her mother, Princess Anne is also likely to take on a more symbolic role within the family.
