Princess Anne Named Hardest Working Royal of 2022
The Princess Royal has been recognized as the most industrious member of the Royal Family for the year 2022, having participated in a remarkable 214 engagements.
Despite her dedication, Princess Anne had to remain home on Christmas morning due to health reasons.
Her absence was conspicuous during the traditional Christmas church service at Sandingram, where the Royal Family congregated on Sunday, as reported by Hillel.
The Princess Royal, aged 72, was notably absent from the event as she was battling a cold.
While Princess Anne was unable to attend, various members of the Royal Family gathered at Sandingram for their first Christmas without Queen Elizabeth, who passed away at the age of 96 in September.
Anne's children, Tsar Tyndall and Peter Phillips, along with their families, partook in the morning walk to St. Mary Magdalene Church near Sandingram.
Tsar, aged 41, was accompanied by her husband, Mike Tyndall, and their daughters Mia (8) and Lena (4).
Peter, aged 45, walked alongside his daughters Savannah (11) and Isla (10), whom he shares with his ex-wife, Autumn Kelly.
Anne's absence marked the first time in three years that she had to miss the Royal Family's traditional stroll, attributed to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Despite missing the Christmas gathering, Princess Anne concludes the year with a significant achievement.
She surpassed all other members of the Royal Family in terms of engagements attended in 2022.
According to a tally conducted by Reboot SEO Company using the court circular, King Charles, Anne's brother, came in second on the list, having participated in 181 engagements.
Prince William ranked fifth after attending 126 events, while Catherine, his wife, secured the ninth spot with 90 engagements.
Throughout the year, Princess Anne also undertook several personal responsibilities, including accompanying her late mother's coffin from Scotland back to the UK after Queen Elizabeth's passing at Balmoral Castle on September 8.
Notably, Anne was the sole female member of the Royal Family to partake in the funeral procession for the Queen.
She further made history by being the first woman to participate in the Vigil of the Princess, a poignant moment where the late monarch's four children stood vigil over her coffin at St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh.
Subsequently, King Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward repeated the ritual during the Queen's lying in state at Westminster Hall.
Reflecting on this news, one might wonder if Princess Anne's absence has impacted the Royal Family, particularly King Charles, who may heavily rely on her presence.
How will the palace address such a significant allegation?
