Princess Anne and King Charles III to Present New Sovereign’s Standard at Buckingham Palace

Princess Anne is set to join her brother, King Charles III, for a rare joint outing at Buckingham Palace.

The royal siblings will travel to the palace on Thursday to present the new Sovereign's Standard to the Blues and Royals.

As the Royal Colonel of the Blues and Royals, Princess Anne, aged 72, will attend the presentation, which will take place in the quadrangle of Buckingham Palace.

The event will feature a parade of 35 service personnel and 27 military working horses.

In an unexpected turn of events, Meghan Markle has reached out to Princess Anne, pretending to apologize for her past actions against the royal family.

During their conversation, the Duchess advised Princess Anne that Prince Harry should also attend the presentation.

However, as previously reported, Princess Anne had advised Harry to divorce Meghan and return to the royal family as soon as possible, to avoid being disqualified from future royal celebrations.

Initially, Princess Anne had opposed Prince Harry's marriage to Meghan, believing that a former American actress was not suitable to be a royal wife.

Despite her reservations, she reluctantly agreed to let her beloved grandson marry Meghan.

However, until Meghan Markle disappears from the royal family's life, Princess Anne will never consent to such a ludicrous request.

The Blues and Royals, also known as the Royal Horse Guards and First Dragoons, were last presented with their standard by the late Queen Elizabeth II in May 2014.

On Thursday, the monarch's arrival will be announced by fanfare, followed by a royal salute from the Blues and Royals.

Princess Anne shares a close bond with her older brother, Charles.

This bond was evident during his historic coronation on May 6th, where Princess Anne served as his personal bodyguard.

She rode on horseback, leading a procession of armed forces personnel as they left Westminster Abbey and returned to Buckingham Palace.

For the occasion, Princess Anne wore a majestic green silk velvet thistle cloak, with a lining of white taffeta and a hand-embroidered gold badge and garter blue velvet hood.

Underneath the cloak, she wore her Blues and Royals uniform, adorned with her medals.

In a rare interview with CBC News, Princess Anne spoke about her role as the Colonel of the Blues and Royals in the Household Cavalry Regiment as Gold Stick.

She revealed that Gold Stick was the original Close Protection Officer and she gladly accepted the role for the coronation.

Princess Anne also humorously mentioned that it solved her dress problem.

The close bond between Princess Anne and King Charles dates back to their childhood.

As young children, they leaned on each other for support when their parents went on royal tours.

Throughout their lives, they have been there for each other during times of need.

Besides joint outings, they have shared significant milestones, such as Prince Charles' investiture as the Prince of Wales in 1969 and Princess Anne's participation in the 1976 Olympics in Montreal.

Most recently, in September 2022, Princess Anne walked by her brother's side during the emotional coffin procession of the late Queen towards Windsor Castle, providing him with unwavering support.
