Prince William Competes in Royal Charity Polo Cup, Supported by Princess Kate
Prince William, accompanied by his wife Princess Kate, participated in the prestigious Royal Charity Polo Cup 2023 in Windsor yesterday.
The event, held at the Guards Polo Club near their residence, aimed to raise funds for numerous charities close to the hearts of the royal couple.
Among the causes supported were Prince William's homelessness charities and Princess Kate's long-standing hospice support, specifically the East Anglia Children's Hospices and a baby bank charity.
The Royal Charity Polo Day proved to be a resounding success, generating over $1.2 million for these worthy causes.
With this year's contributions, the total amount raised in the past 12 years exceeds an impressive $15 million, as stated by the couple's office.
The event benefited several organizations, including Mental Health Innovations, Wales Air Ambulance, Centrepoint, The Passage, Mountain Rescue England and Wales, Foundling Museum, Forward Trust, East Anglia Children's Hospices, Baby Basics, Little Village, and Abba Necessities.
During the match, Prince William represented the US Polo Association, while Prince Harry did not receive an invitation to participate.
At the conclusion of the game, Princess Kate joined the field to present Prince William with the coveted trophy.
The US Polo Association, in partnership with its licensing counterpart, Brand Machine Group, served as the official apparel and team sponsor for the 2022 Royal Charity Polo Cup.
Interestingly, Prince Harry's absence from this year's event raises questions about his involvement in polo.
In the previous year, he played with Nacho's team in a league, which garnered significant attention.
However, it appears that he is no longer part of the team, as his name has been absent from the roster since last year.
In contrast to Prince Harry, Prince William opts not to use spurs on his polo pony.
In a recent article featuring Argentinian polo player Nacho Figueras, it was revealed that Harry had borrowed two of Nacho's polo ponies.
Unfortunately, when Harry returned them, they were in poor health.
This led to Nacho and Delfina severing ties with the harkles and having them expelled from the Santa Barbara Polo Club, where the Figueras family holds membership.
Furthermore, it seems that Harry's financial situation may hinder his ability to continue playing polo.
The sport demands substantial financial resources, with costs amounting to approximately $100,000 per year, including club fees, pony maintenance, and tournament expenses.
Given his financial constraints, Harry relied on Nacho's support throughout the season, as Nacho likely believed that having him on the team would generate positive publicity.
Notably, despite being older than Harry, Nacho maintains a level of fitness comparable to Prince William, as evident in recent polo pictures taken in New York.
In contrast, Harry's physical appearance suggests a lack of fitness, with visible weight gain and a perpetual hangover-like demeanor in photos where he is not wearing sunglasses.
Considering these factors, it is reasonable to question the safety of Harry's continued participation in polo.
His current physical condition and potential susceptibility to injuries raise concerns about his well-being on the field.
