Prince Louis Steals the Spotlight in IMAGO Photograph of the Year Awards
Prince Louis, the youngest child of Princess Catherine and Prince William, continues to captivate hearts with his adorable presence.
The IMAGO Photograph of the Year Awards, presented in partnership with the UK Picture Editors Guild Awards, has nominated multiple images featuring Prince Louis.
In fact, nine out of the twenty finalists showcase members of the British royal family.
One of the standout moments that went viral was Prince Louis' delightful antics at the Platinum Jubilee Pageant in June 2022.
From sitting on his grandfather King Charles' lap to dancing to the music, all eyes were on the young prince.
However, it is a snapshot of Prince Louis placing a hand over his mother's, Princess Kate's, mouth that is in the running for Photo of the Year.
Several finalist images are from the Trooping the Colour event, which took place the same weekend.
Prince Louis made his horse-drawn carriage debut alongside his older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
But the real excitement began when they joined Queen Elizabeth on the balcony of the Buckingham Palace.
As the Royal Air Force planes thundered overhead, Prince Louis covered his ears and let out a joyful yell, bringing a smile to Queen Elizabeth's face.
These two photos capturing the moment have also made it to the finals of the photo contest, aptly titled “Prince Louis Screams” and “Prince Louis Screams Again.”
Photographer Samir Hussain, one of the finalists, expressed his happiness on Twitter, stating, “Really happy to have my photo of the Queen and Prince Louis nominated for Photo of the Year at the Picture Editor Awards.
A real honor to be recognized amongst such stunning images.”
While the royal family enjoys these precious moments, there is a tinge of sadness that Meghan and Harry's children do not have the same opportunities.
Their updated photos remain unseen, and they are not often seen playing outside like other children.
However, the Wales family of five is currently enjoying a happy time at Balmoral.
Princess Eugene, who has spent many summers at Balmoral, reveals that their typical day involves walks, picnics, and enjoying the company of their beloved dogs.
Balmoral, a 52,000-acre Scottish estate, has been a place of solace for the royal family since the days of Queen Victoria.
They relish the breathtaking landscape and indulge in activities such as horseback riding, hunting, grouse shooting, and fly fishing.
Even indoors, nature's creatures make their presence known.
The estate is home to a colony of pipe straws, bats that nest in the rafters of the ballroom.
It is said that the Queen used to help servants catch them with nets, adding a playful element to their time at Balmoral.
Prince Louis, in particular, finds immense joy at Balmoral.
Catherine shared with Australia's Governor General David Hurley that he was worried about not being able to play games at the retreat now that his great-grandmother is no longer there.
“Do you think we can still play these games when we go to Balmoral?”
he asked.
So, the sprawling estate promises fun cousin time for the royal children.
With the new term approaching, the family will soon return to their Windsor home to prepare for school.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis attend the prestigious private school Lumbrook in Berkshire, near their family home on the royal Windsor estate.
According to the school's website, the autumn term starts on Wednesday, September 6th.
