Prince Louis Requests Daily Outdoor Playtime After School
Prince Louis, the youngest child of Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, has a unique after-school request for his mother.
During a recent visit to Wales, Catherine revealed that Louis asked to play outside in the garden every day after finishing school.
The princess shared this playful request while observing a therapy garden at the Rehabilitation Centre.
According to Catherine, all her children enjoy spending time outdoors and in the garden.
However, Prince Louis is particularly fond of playing outside and loves exploring the natural surroundings.
This comes as no surprise, as the royal mother of three has always been an advocate for outdoor activities.
She firmly believes that spending time in nature is essential for children's overall well-being.
During her visit to Wales, Catherine spoke to those at the garden, expressing Louis' need to “get his energy out” when he returns home from school.
Currently enrolled in his first year at Lambrook School, Louis joins his brother, Prince George, and sister, Princess Charlotte, at the Windsor-based institution.
Unfortunately for Louis, some parents have described Lambrook School as “pretty bucolic,” suggesting that it may not fully satisfy his desire for outdoor play.
However, there is hope for the youngest prince.
He might have already joined the school's Forest Fridays, a program where the youngest pupils head into the school grounds to build dens and roast marshmallows near a fire.
This would provide Louis with additional opportunities to engage with nature and enjoy outdoor activities.
Catherine's visit to Wales also provided her with the chance to praise the benefits of gardening and spending time outside.
She emphasized how gardening and horticulture can enhance physical and mental health, reduce stress and anxiety, and boost self-esteem.
The princess even recalled her visit to a forest school in Denmark earlier this year, where she witnessed children joyfully singing campfire songs.
Last September, when the royal children began attending Lambrook School, Sunday Times royal editor Roya Nikar highlighted the unique aspects of the institution.
She explained that the school's emphasis on the outdoors, the presence of animals, a miniature golf course, and roaming peacocks create a special and lovely environment.
William and Catherine's intention is for their children to have a more normal life, with ample opportunities for outdoor exploration.
