Prince Louis’ First Word Inspired by Baking, Says Kate Middleton
In a heartwarming revelation, Kate Middleton has shared that one of Prince Louis' first phrases was inspired by none other than Mary Berry, one of England's most beloved bakers.
The Duchess of Cambridge joined Mary Berry for a special Christmas program called “A Berry Royal Christmas” on BBC One in 2019.
During the show, Kate disclosed that her youngest son's first word had a culinary connection.
While many toddlers utter “mama” or “dada” as their initial words, it seems that Prince Louis took a rather intriguing gourmet route.
Kate revealed, “I have to tell you, one of Louis' first words was his version of Mary, because right at his height are all our cooking books.”
It seems that the young prince was captivated by the faces he saw on Mary Berry's cookbooks, leading him to say, “That's Mary Berry,” making her one of his first words.
Prince Louis, who was born on April 23, 2018, would have been around one-and-a-half years old during the Christmas program.
Despite his tender age, Kate mentioned that her youngest child already showed an appreciation for more mature dishes.
The Duchess enjoys cooking with her children and revealed that they particularly love Mary Berry's delectable pizza dough recipe.
Additionally, the royal family takes pride in growing their own vegetables, with carrots, beans, and beets being among their favorites.
In fact, Kate shared that beetroot is a massive hit with Prince Louis.
It seems that the young prince has quite an adventurous palate.
While he may have access to some of the world's finest cuisine, Prince Louis has shown a preference for non-royal desserts.
When he tried a scrumptious s'more, a marshmallow sandwiched between two biscuits, at a scout hut, royal admirers couldn't contain their excitement.
Prince William was overheard exclaiming, “Oh, my goodness, you've made his day,” as he indulged in the delightful treat.
Kate Middleton has also mentioned Princess Charlotte's exquisite taste buds, showing that a love for good food runs in the family.
