Prince Harry’s New Memoir Aims to Protect His Brother’s Children
Prince Harry's highly anticipated memoir, titled “Spare,” was released on Tuesday.
In a recent interview with Brian Gordon, the Duke revealed that his motivation behind publishing the book was to safeguard his brother's children.
Addressing concerns about his relationship with the royal family, Harry emphasized that his intention was not to attack them.
Instead, he expressed his worries for his niece and nephews, acknowledging that one of them may face a similar fate as himself – being the “spare” in the line of succession.
The dynamic between Prince Harry and his older brother, Prince William, has often been described as that of an heir and a spare.
As William is set to ascend the throne after their father, King Charles, Harry has always played a secondary role in terms of succession.
However, if William were to pass away without any children, Harry would have taken on the responsibility as the next in line.
Currently, William's eldest son, Prince George, holds the heir role, while his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, assume the spare positions.
During the interview, Harry further elaborated on his concerns, stating, “As I know within my own family, if it's not us, it will be someone else.”
While he admitted to discussing this matter with William, the latter made it clear that his children were not Harry's responsibility.
Nevertheless, Harry still feels a sense of duty, acknowledging that at least one of those three children will face the same challenges he has encountered as the spare.
In a candid conversation from his Montecito Home, Harry delved into his views on the press and their relationship with the royal family.
He expressed his desire to protect his family from what he perceives as harmful media influence.
The 38-year-old believes that he will face criticism for his observations but considers it his life's mission to rectify what he sees as past wrongs that led to his family's departure from the UK.
He specifically mentioned the tragic deaths of his mother, Princess Diana, and TV presenter Caroline Flack, both of which deeply affected him.
Harry recounted a breaking point when he returned home to find his wife, Meghan, in tears while caring for their son, Archie.
He attributed her distress to the relentless newspaper stories about their lives.
Harry even went so far as to claim that his wife would be dead if she read the press coverage about them.
Now, the question arises: Is Harry truly protecting the Cambridge children, or is he betraying them once again?
The Sussexes have faced their fair share of controversies, but what lies ahead for them?
