Prince Harry Faces Cold Reception from Royal Family Amid Book Release
Prince Harry has been urged to adhere to the royal family's protocols as he prepares to meet his relatives in person for the first time since the release of his tell-all book, Spare.
Paul Burrell, a former royal butler with years of experience, claims that those who do not conform are pushed to the outskirts by the firm.
Burrell commented on the recent announcement that Prince Harry would be attending King Charles' coronation alone, stating that Princess Diana's son can expect a chilly and unwelcoming reception in the UK.
In an interview with Spin Genie, Burrell emphasized that Harry will have to face family members whom he has criticized and distanced himself from, implying that the Windsors hold grudges and do not easily forgive.
Burrell stressed that the royal family enforces conformity and expects Harry to follow the rules set by the King.
On April 12th, Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, announced through their spokesperson that only the Duke would be traveling across the Atlantic for the historic coronation.
This announcement came after the deadline to RSVP had reportedly passed.
Burrell believes that the couple intentionally created uncertainty to captivate the media's attention.
He further suggested that their continued relevance in the public eye is primarily due to their royal status and their connection to the family.
Burrell argued that being on the periphery of royalty is their greatest asset, which they can exploit to their advantage.
However, he warned that if Meghan and Harry completely detach themselves from the royal family, the American public may lose interest in them and refocus on the core royals.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down from their public duties in the spring of 2020 and relocated to California.
Despite their departure, they have retained their royal titles and have used them on various occasions, such as on the cover of Meghan's children's book, The Bench, and when attending certain events.
Additionally, they have chosen to style their children as Prince and Princess, a privilege granted to Archie and Elizabeth upon King Charles' ascension to the throne.
It is evident that a significant gap remains between the Sussexes and their royal family relatives.
Both Meghan and Harry have openly expressed their grievances against the institution and certain family members in multiple interviews, including in the Duke's memoir released in January.
As Prince Harry prepares to reunite with his relatives, the tension surrounding his book release and the ongoing public discourse between the Sussexes and the royal family looms large.
