Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Face Career Setback as Global Press Secretary Resigns
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are confronted with yet another challenge as the year comes to a close, further impacting their already declining careers.
Recent reports have revealed that Ashley Hansen, the couple's global press secretary, has submitted her resignation after serving in the role for over a year.
According to a now-deleted article from the Sunday Times, an insider has shed light on Ashley's departure from Harry and Meghan's core team.
The source disclosed that Ashley had been exploring freelance opportunities independently, but unfortunately, these plans did not align with the Sussexes' own objectives.
Despite being highly regarded by their team, Ashley faced a common hurdle, as clients did not always heed her advice, hinting at underlying tensions.
Royal expert Neil Sean has now provided insights into Ashley's exit and the removal of the Times article, attributing it all to a red carpet incident.
In his latest YouTube video, Neil remarked, “How could that possibly be, Meghan and Harry not taking direction?
Well, what we can tell you first, and as ever exclusive on the show, is that there's been something of a fracas.”
Neil went on to explain that the “fracas” stemmed from an incident during a variety appearance, where Meghan was reportedly furious about being asked to move along the red carpet.
Neil even humorously suggested the use of a hook, like in the Muppet Show, to swiftly remove her.
However, Meghan's resistance to moving along became problematic, leading to a larger issue.
Regarding Ashley Hansen, no statement has been released thus far, particularly over the festive season.
The reason for the Times newspaper removing the article and subsequent follow-ups was simply due to denials from the Sussex camp.
What is known is that there is turmoil, and allegedly Prince Harry wants Ashley to remain in her role, believing she is doing an excellent job.
However, according to the source, Meghan is not too impressed, which is understandable after the debacle on the variety carpet.
In November, Meghan Markle displayed irritation on the red carpet during a glitzy event.
During a cameo on the red carpet, Ashley appeared to nudge Meghan slightly with an outstretched arm.
Meghan laughed and turned around to speak to the assistant without walking along the red carpet.
This incident occurred during Variety's Power of Women gala, where Meghan expressed her involvement in several exciting projects following a year of limited releases.
Unfortunately, it seems that Meghan is struggling to secure work in the entertainment industry due to the negative press surrounding her and Prince Harry in recent years.
According to Deadline, the Sussexes are finding it challenging to find collaborators, and this goes beyond losing their contract with Spotify.
Their ongoing feud with the royal family and the constant gossip surrounding their marriage and lifestyle have made big brands hesitant to associate with them.
Furthermore, Meghan Markle is not receiving the movie or television roles that many anticipated she would have by now.
She was written out of the legal drama “Suits” and distanced herself from Hollywood before her relationship with Prince Harry began in 2016.
As the year concludes, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle face yet another obstacle in their professional lives.
The resignation of their global press secretary, Ashley Hansen, and the fallout from the red carpet incident have further complicated their already waning careers.
