Prince George to be a Focus of King Charles’ Coronation, Expert Claims

Prince George will play a significant role in the upcoming coronation of King Charles, according to world expert Dr. Tessa Dunlop.

In the latest episode of the Daily Mail's Palace Confidential series, Dr. Dunlop spoke about the procession and the roles that the wider royal family will have during the ceremony.

While working members of the royal family are expected to participate, the emphasis will be on King Charles, Prince William, and Prince George at Westminster Abbey.

The aim is to keep the focus on the immediate line of succession, with camera shots highlighting the three key figures.

Dr. Dunlop also referenced the queen's coronation in 1953, where the young heir, King Charles, was strategically placed between the queen mother and his aunt Princess Margaret to ensure visibility.

Richard Eden, diary editor, added that other working members of the royal family will also have prominent roles during the procession to Westminster Abbey.

Although they won't participate in the ceremony itself, the events surrounding the coronation will involve all working royals, allowing different parts of the UK to feel included.

The culmination of the ceremony will be the appearance of the entire working royal family together on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

King Charles aims to set the tone for a streamlined and modern monarchy while preserving some of the pomp and majesty witnessed during the queen's lying in state and funeral ceremonies.

The historic coronation on May 6th will begin with the crowning of Camilla before Charles is officially named monarch with the placement of the St. Edward crown on his head by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Following the ceremony, the newly crowned king will lead a procession to Buckingham Palace, where he will join his family on the balcony to greet the crowd.

The following day, a concert at Windsor Castle will be broadcast worldwide, accompanied by street parties throughout the country.

A bank holiday on Monday will grant millions of people a day off work.

Speculation has been mounting regarding Prince Harry and Meghan's attendance at the coronation.

Friends of the couple have stated that they are considering various factors impacting their decision.

Harry, who wishes to be by his father's side on this significant day, hopes to mend his strained relationship with the royal family.

However, the decision is complicated as their attendance may be seen as a snub or even hypocritical.

The couple will make a final decision upon receiving a formal invitation at their home in California.

It is also possible that neither of them will attend.

If Harry does go, his visit will be brief, and he is keen on having a meeting with the King and Prince William before returning to the US.

Despite the recent release of Harry's explosive memoir, “Spare,” it is expected that the Sussexes will still receive an invitation to the coronation.

If they choose to attend, they will do so as normal congregation members.

However, claims made in Harry's book and his subsequent media campaign have reportedly caused tension within the royal family.

Harry has not yet spoken directly to the King or Prince William about his attendance plans, but invitations are due to be sent out soon.

It is understood that those wishing to attend will need to RSVP by the start of April.
