Prince George: From Little Grape to PG Tips

and Princess Catherine's firstborn, Prince George, has always been known for his rambunctious nature.

At the age of 10, he has already had a number of names in his life.

Like all new parents, the royal couple took their time choosing the perfect name for their little boy.

While Catherine was pregnant, there was a flurry of betting on possible names.

Although Catherine suspected it was a boy, she hadn't set her heart on the name Alexander.

They had not yet decided what to call their firstborn.

During her pregnancy, Catherine affectionately referred to her bump as “our little grape.”

It's adorable how different fruits are often used to illustrate the size of the baby in the womb at various stages of pregnancy.

A grape represents the baby's size at week nine.

We wonder if the nickname originated at this stage.

When Prince George was born, he was christened George Alexander Louis.

Due to his parents' title as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, he took on the surname Cambridge at school.

The couple reportedly wrote all the possible names on scraps of paper and scattered them on the floor of their home.

They let their beloved dog, Lupo, decide by observing which piece of paper he went over to.

Lupo picked up the paper with the name George, sealing the prince's moniker.

Surprisingly, Prince George has another nickname that he uses while playing at his grandmother Carol Middleton's house.

There is speculation as to whether it's a family nickname or his own choice.

One day, while playing near a stream at the Middleton family home, George encountered a woman walking her dog.

To her astonishment, when asked his name, he responded with a big smile, “I'm called .”

She remarked that she didn't know why he called himself , but it's common for kids to play with their names, and she found it lovely.

The name Archie originally comes from German, but in Scotland, it's a short form of Archibald, meaning true, bold, and brave.

In 2022, when his parents became the prince and princess of Wales, George became George Wales at school.

However, one constant for the prince is that he has always been formally known as Prince George.

This is partially linked to his sweet nickname, which he has reportedly had for over a decade.

Proud royal parents William and Catherine have given their new son an unusual nickname.

After friends started calling Prince George “PG” (short for Prince George), the couple took the next logical step and dubbed him “PG Tips,” after a brand of teabags.

It seems the nickname has stuck and become a part of his identity.

Prince George isn't the only one of his siblings with an adorable nickname.

, known for his cheeky behavior, has become a favorite amongst fans who refer to him as “Boss Baby,” a reference to the Hollywood character.

This sweet family nickname was revealed during an engagement earlier this year, where was seen making s'mores during a charitable event.

Catherine quickly noticed and said to the youngsters, “Pop that in the fire, Loo Bug,” revealing the prince's endearing nickname.
