Prince Charles Tearfully Calls Camilla After Clash with Queen, She Seeks Solace in Martinis
In a recent turn of events, Prince Charles found himself in a heated argument with Queen Elizabeth II, leading him to seek solace by reaching out to his wife, Camilla.
The emotional phone call took place amidst the COP26 Leaders' Summit, where Prince Charles played a prominent role and referred to it as the last-chance saloon for saving our planet.
Meanwhile, the Queen, following medical advice, decided to stay at Windsor Castle and sent a pre-recorded message to the leaders attending the summit.
In her address, she commended both Prince Charles and Prince William for their dedicated efforts in environmental advocacy.
Accompanying their husbands, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, also made their presence felt at the event in Glasgow.
While Charles and Camilla officially tied the knot in 2005, their relationship dates back much further, originating from their initial encounter in the early 1970s.
It is worth noting that Princess Diana famously mentioned in an interview with Martin Bashir that there were “three of us in this marriage,” implying that Camilla played a role in the breakdown of her marriage to Prince Charles.
Tom Bower, an investigative author, shed light on the Queen's disapproval of Charles and Camilla's relationship, even during their divorces.
In a 2018 article for the Mail, Bower revealed that both the Queen and her mother had vehemently rejected any association with Charles' mistress.
They not only refused to have her presence at any royal function, be it formal or informal, but also expressed their strong disapproval of Charles' relationship with her.
According to Bower, Charles grew increasingly frustrated with this situation and decided to confront his mother during their time at Balmoral.
Seeking some leniency from the Queen, Charles hoped that she would at least allow him to openly live with Camilla.
