Prince and Princess of Wales Support Coach Corps’ 10th Anniversary Celebrations
The Prince and Princess of Wales, looking impeccably stylish in their outfits, attended the Copper Box Arena in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in East London on Thursday.
Their purpose was to show support for Coach Corps, a program that celebrates its 10th anniversary by training young individuals to become coaches and inspiring the next generation of athletes.
In 2012, Prince William, Princess Catherine, and Prince Harry established the Coach Corps initiative as part of the Royal Foundation.
This sports-based program was created in response to the London riots and aimed to embody the spirit of the Olympic and Paralympic Games held in London.
Over the past decade, Coach Corps has helped more than 750 underprivileged young people kick-start meaningful careers through sports coaching apprenticeships.
The organization is backed by renowned sports ambassadors, including England lionesses and Manchester City captain Stephen Houghton, six-time Olympic medalist Max Whitlock, and tennis icon Judy Murray.
Princess Catherine exuded sophistication, wearing a royal blue wool blazer with black detailing, paired with black trousers and simple black heels.
Prince William opted for a dark blue suit with a light blue shirt.
As they arrived at the venue, the Princess made a sweet gesture towards her husband, gently rubbing his back while they waved to onlookers.
The couple then proceeded to shake hands with the charity's officials.
Known for their competitive spirit, William and Catherine engaged with several young individuals associated with the charity and even participated in some of the sports sessions offered.
Gary Laybourne, CEO of Coach Corps, was also present during the event.
Throughout the years, the royal couple has been actively involved in the charity's activities.
In 2020, despite the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic, they reopened the Coach Corps Awards to celebrate the group's achievements.
Prince William expressed his pride in the apprentices' accomplishments and the resilience they displayed in the face of difficulties.
This is not the first time Prince William and Princess Catherine have showcased their athletic side.
In 2018, they visited South Essex Gymnastics Club, where they played tennis and boccia, with Catherine even competing in heels.
The couple also visited the Aston Villa Football Club in 2017 to witness Coach Corps' work firsthand.
Additionally, they attended the charity's annual awards ceremony a month earlier.
In a separate event, Prince William recently presented Sergeant Emma Probett, the Prince of Wales' loyal bodyguard, with a Royal Distinction.
Sergeant Probett, who joined Catherine's Royal Protection Unit in 2010, was honored with the Royal Victorian Order, which recognizes individuals for their distinguished service to the monarch.
Throughout her tenure, she has accompanied the Princess of Wales on numerous royal engagements, ensuring her safety and security.
Prior to joining Catherine's team, Sergeant Probett was responsible for the security of Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
Equipped with martial arts training, she carries a 9mm Glock pistol and a Taser stun gun at all times while on duty with the royals.
It is believed that she also wears a stab vest for added protection.
In another engagement, Prince Charles engaged in a video chat with Boston Mayor Michelle Woo to discuss the upcoming December Earthshot Prize awards.
The Earthshot Prize aims to identify solutions to the world's climate challenges.
Although Prince William and Princess Catherine were initially scheduled to attend the summit, they had to cancel due to the passing of Queen Elizabeth.
However, Prince William assured the attendees through a video call that he will undoubtedly be present at the end-of-year ceremony.
He expressed his gratitude for their enthusiasm, optimism, and commitment to the Earthshot Prize, which was close to his grandmother's heart.
He emphasized that the event brings together people and organizations that will play a crucial role in achieving the Earthshot mission of rejuvenating the planet within the current decade.
The Prince and Princess of Wales continue to make significant contributions to various causes, showcasing their dedication to making a positive impact on society and the environment.
