Pippa Middleton’s Move to 10,000-Acre Estate Snubs Sussexes from Party at Berkshire Retreat

Pippa Middleton, the younger sister of the Princess of Wales, has recently relocated from her £17m townhouse in Chelsea to a magnificent 30-room Berkshire retreat with her husband, James Matthews.

According to Daily Mail’s Eden Confidential, their new home boasts an impressive 30 bedrooms and 150 acres of grounds, complete with a river, walled garden, and greenhouses.

This spacious estate provides ample room for their growing family.

However, there is a possibility that Pippa may be tempted to move to the Scottish Highlands in the future.

This potential move is contingent upon her billionaire husband inheriting his family’s Glen Afrik estate.

In 2018, James’ father, David Matthews, purchased the Glen Afrik estate, which includes the main house, Afrik Lodge, situated on a peninsula surrounded by 10,000 acres of land and a lock of the same name.

Located in the south-west of the village of Cannich in the Highland region of Scotland, Glen Afrik lies approximately 15 miles west of Loch Ness.

David acquired the courtesy title of Laird of Glen Afrik and transformed the estate into an exclusive rental property.

The lodge itself is adorned with paintings of Highland landscapes by renowned 19th-century artist Sir Edwin Lanzier and retains its traditional Victorian features, including turrets and fireplaces.

Interestingly, Pippa’s brother, James Middleton, also plays a role in hosting events at the estate, keeping it within the family.

Recent reports suggest that Pippa will be hosting a grand housewarming party, inviting numerous celebrity and royal friends.

Surprisingly, Meghan and Harry did not receive an invitation, despite Pippa and Harry sharing a close relationship in the past.

This exclusion adds to the ongoing tension between Meghan and the Middleton sisters.

It appears that Meghan believes the spotlight should always be on her, rather than on Pippa and James.

This sentiment was evident when Meghan felt slighted at Pippa’s wedding, as she was not part of the ceremony but only attended the reception.

In a recent episode of the Royally Obsessed podcast, royal commentator Roberta Fiorito discussed the exciting possibility of Pippa acquiring a royal title.

She revealed that James Matthews’ father is the Laird of Glen Afrik and, upon inheriting the estate, James will assume this title.

Consequently, Pippa would become the Lady of Glen Afrik, a title associated with royalty.

Although the Court of Lord Lyon stated in 2012 that the terms “Lord” and “Lady” pertain to those with confirmed peerage and not land ownership, if James does inherit the title, Pippa could choose to use it.

Historians have noted that Laird’s wives used the title “Lady” during the 18th century.

James Matthews, Pippa’s husband, is a hedge fund manager who previously pursued a career as a professional race car driver.

According to estimates by The Sun, his net worth exceeds two billion pounds.

This fact may come as a surprise to Meghan, considering her assumption that marrying a prince would guarantee financial security for life.

However, upon leaving the UK, Meghan and Harry realized they needed to work to maintain the independence they desired.

Their hopes were further dashed when Prince Charles announced that he would no longer provide financial support.

It became evident that their newfound freedom came with its own set of responsibilities.

In conclusion, Pippa Middleton’s move to the grand 10,000-acre Glen Afrik estate in Scotland has raised eyebrows and sparked excitement.
