Peace Talks Between Prince Harry and King Charles III Appear Unlikely, Analyst Says
Discussions of reconciliation between Prince Harry and his father, King Charles III, are deemed a distant possibility, according to one analyst.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are scheduled to travel to Dusseldorf, Germany in September for the Invictus Games.
However, royal insiders have informed Fox News Digital that there will be no peace talks between Prince Harry and King Charles III during this trip to Europe.
On September 17, OK!
Magazine reported that a private meeting between the father and son was planned.
This occasion holds great significance as it coincides with the King's return to London from Balmoral and the conclusion of the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf.
Nevertheless, sources close to Sussex informed The New York Post that Meghan Markle would not be accompanying her husband to Germany.
Despite Fox News Digital's request for comment from representatives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex or Buckingham Palace, no response has been received.
Numerous royal family experts have expressed their skepticism regarding a peace summit between the Queen and her spare.
Royal analyst Duncan Larcombe stated that both sides are still far from reaching a stage where reconciliation is possible.
According to Larcombe, it would take nothing short of a miracle for Prince Harry, 38, and King Charles III, 74, to mend their strained relationship.
The tensions between Prince William and Prince Harry remain high, making it unlikely for the King to attempt peace talks with Harry without William's knowledge.
Larcombe believes that the time is not yet right for such a meeting, but he does not rule out the possibility entirely.
Larcombe also mentioned that the Duchess of Sussex would not be included in any meeting between the royal family and the public.
Since marrying Prince Harry in 2018, Meghan Markle has been known as the Duchess of Sussex.
Larcombe emphasized that if a meeting were to take place, it would be strictly confidential, with the details remaining undisclosed.
He expressed doubts about the royal family placing their trust in Meghan, as they fear their private discussions could be televised in the United States.
The lack of trust in Meghan stems from the couple's decision to step back as senior royals in 2020, citing intrusive media coverage and racial biases as reasons.
They subsequently relocated to Montecito, a wealthy community on California's Pacific coast.
The couple's public image was further shaped by a two-hour TV interview with Oprah Winfrey, a Netflix docuseries, and the release of Prince Harry's bestselling memoir, “Spare.”
According to author Christopher Anderson, the King is cautious due to the couple's tendency to publicize their grievances.
Anderson stated that the future of the monarchy is Charles' primary concern.
While he hasn't completely written off his son, Charles is focused on bolstering the monarchy's reputation by highlighting the appeal of other members of the royal family, such as Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and, most importantly, Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Anderson revealed that Charles faces the reality that he lacks the widespread popular support enjoyed by his mother.
The public's preference for William and Kate as their future monarchs, rather than Charles, has become evident.
Additionally, there is growing erosion of confidence in the monarchy as an institution.
Meanwhile, Harry shows no signs of giving up and has embarked on a new chapter.
If he wishes to engage in a private conversation with his father, he must promise to keep it confidential.
