Paparazzi Invade Montecito as Harry and Meghan’s Privacy is Compromised
Montecito, an affluent area known for being a sanctuary for celebrities seeking refuge from the limelight, has turned into a chaotic scene.
Paparazzi helicopters have been buzzing over the neighborhood, sometimes making as many as four passes a day.
These intrusive photographers have taken to staking out Harry and Meghan’s residence and a nearby shopping center, violating the supposed “no paparazzi” zone that Montecito is famous for.
Previously, A-listers such as Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah, Rob Lowe, Carol Burnett, Jane Lynch, and the Kardashians had no issues enjoying their meals and shopping discreetly in Montecito.
However, everything has changed since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved in.
Locals are growing increasingly frustrated, feeling that their privacy is being compromised by the constant presence of paparazzi.
Last week, Harry and Meghan were spotted in Los Angeles, engaging in charity work to support children in need.
However, they have yet to be seen in Montecito.
According to a source, the couple used the Baby to Baby event as a photo opportunity, even hiring their own photographer to ensure publicity-ready images while volunteering.
It seems that when it comes to charities, Harry and Meghan have a motto: if there are no photographs, it’s as if they didn’t participate at all.
At the Baby to Baby event, which provides essential items for vulnerable families, the Duke and Duchess volunteered for an outdoor back-to-school session, wearing masks as they helped children try on new backpacks.
Within just 30 minutes, they had their photographer capture the moment before swiftly departing.
During the event, Meghan was also accused of using her mask as a prop or accessory for the photo op without seeking permission from the parents involved.
The Baby to Baby Instagram page shared the photos, crediting their regular photographer, Christian Monterosa, for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Many people were upset by the fact that Harry and Meghan brought their own photographer to a charity event, as volunteering should be about helping others, not self-promotion.
A Twitter user in the United States commented, “Baby to Baby is one of the most celebrity-heavy charities in Los Angeles.
The work they do is amazing, but for Hollywood mothers, it’s the social event of the year.
A savvy but transparent move.
Also, openly bringing your own photographer to a volunteer opportunity is tacky.”
Adding fuel to the fire, rumors circulated that Harry and Meghan flew to Los Angeles on a private plane.
A local resident even claimed to have a flight plan that matched their departure and arrival times.
Allegedly, the couple drove 30 minutes to the nearest airport, took a 25-minute flight, and then arrived at the event with their photographer, Christian Monterosa, a freelance photojournalist based in LA.
Speculation suggests that Harry and Meghan may have struck a deal with Monterosa, as they are known to appreciate freebies, benefiting both parties in terms of publicity.
The invasion of paparazzi in Montecito has raised concerns about the couple’s privacy and motives.
With the addition of a camera, the authenticity of their actions is called into question.
