Oprah, Sharon Osbourne, and Rosie O’Donnell: Celebrities Embrace Controversial Weight Loss Drug
The year 2023 has witnessed a surge in the use of weight loss drugs among celebrities, with one medication, Azempic, taking center stage.
Originally approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, Azempic has found a new off-label use for shedding pounds, alongside other similar medications.
However, while some stars have openly admitted to using these drugs, others have vehemently denied any involvement.
One celebrity who has consistently denied using weight loss drugs is Meghan Markle.
Despite her fellow celebrities' admissions, Markle has distanced herself from their choice.
Oprah Winfrey, a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, has been transparent about her experience with Azempic.
Speaking to People magazine, Winfrey expressed relief at the existence of a medically approved prescription for managing weight and improving health.
She emphasized that this was not something to hide behind or be ridiculed for.
“I'm absolutely done with the shaming from other people and particularly myself,” Winfrey stated firmly.
Similarly, Sharon Osbourne has openly discussed her use of Azempic and the effects it has had on her body.
In an interview with the Daily Mail last November, the 70-year-old revealed that she had become too gaunt and struggled to put on weight, weighing less than 100 pounds after using Azempic.
Reflecting on her experience, Osbourne warned against the dangers of becoming addicted to weight loss drugs.
“You can lose so much weight, and it's easy to become addicted to that, which is quite dangerous,” she cautioned.
Despite being off the medication for some time, Osbourne continues to lose weight.
Interestingly, Osbourne disclosed that she had advised Meghan Markle to use Azempic for weight loss, but Markle disregarded the advice.
Unfortunately, Markle suffered an overdose as a result of her own experimentation.
It is evident that Markle has indeed lost a significant amount of weight, with some observers noting changes in her facial appearance.
“Something's off around the mouth, and I'm not sure if it's the new veneers.
If it is, it's a very bad job,” remarked one critic.
Markle's pursuit of a slim figure, akin to that of Princess Catherine, has led her to explore various substances and methods for weight loss.
However, the outcome has been far from desirable, resulting in a gaunt and unhealthy appearance.
Rapid weight loss can have adverse effects on one's physical well-being, causing premature aging and wrinkles.
In Markle's case, her diminishing frame only accentuates her broad torso, creating an unflattering silhouette.
It is clear that Azempic has sparked controversy within Hollywood, with celebrities divided on its usage.
While some have embraced the drug openly, others have chosen to distance themselves from it.
The debate surrounding weight loss drugs and their impact on health and body image continues to captivate the public's attention.
