Meghan Markle’s Role at Invictus Games in Question
The upcoming 2023 Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, Germany, have been making headlines, but not for the reasons one might expect.
Recent reports suggest that Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, may no longer be participating in a key role during the Closing Ceremony.
A spokesperson for the Sussexes confirmed that Meghan will join her husband, Prince Harry, at the Games, but it seems her involvement has been called into question.
Initially, the Invictus Games organizer had scheduled Meghan to take on a special role during the Closing Ceremony.
She was set to co-host with presenter Hadnet Tesfai and personally moderate the stories of war-disabled competitors and their families.
However, according to German media outlet T-Online, this information can no longer be found on the Invictus Games website.
Instead, it appears that Hadnet Tesfai will be taking on the role alone.
On the English side of the website, Meghan's involvement was still mentioned until recently.
The Duchess of Sussex was expected to co-host a segment with Tesfai, where competitors would discuss what home means to them.
Following this, Meghan was scheduled to deliver a closing speech and provide a preview of the upcoming Invictus Games, founded by Prince Harry himself.
When asked about Meghan's absence from the event, an Invictus Games spokesperson clarified that the English version of the website contained an error.
Additionally, Meghan's name is nowhere to be seen in the Games schedule on the official website.
This raises questions about whether she will indeed have a role at the Invictus Games.
Meanwhile, rumors have been circulating in gossip magazines about Meghan's alleged diva behavior and excessive demands.
Reports suggest that she has been making requests ranging from specific room temperatures and linens to chauffeur-driven limos and private flights.
An insider close to the former actress claims that her demands rival those of A-list celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Cher.
It appears that Meghan's spokesperson has been persistent in trying to secure her participation at the Invictus Games.
However, a recent video by HG Tudor on YouTube suggests that the German Ministry of Defence was firm in declining Meghan's spokesperson's request for her to participate in a live interview alongside Harry for the German ZDF media on September 9th.
The video speculates that Meghan's behavior may have played a role in her exclusion from the event.
This is not the first time organizers have faced pressure to include Meghan at the Invictus Games.
However, it seems their decision to exclude her has remained unchanged.
Perhaps the Invictus Foundation took into account the opinions of those who emailed them expressing concerns about Harry and Meghan's involvement.
Following Harry's controversial speech on the Heart of Invictus podcast, where he claimed lack of support from the British people, media, and armed forces for veterans returning from Afghanistan, there may be a growing sentiment to distance themselves from the couple.
As the Invictus Games approach, the question remains: will Meghan Markle have a role at the Games or not?
Only time will tell if her involvement will be reinstated or if she will be left on the sidelines.
